oh and before someone says "but with arm11 kernel exploit we can downgrade withouth this" NO WE CAN'T. 11.0 added a check and if you try to install a title of a lower version it rejects the install

by the way, can anyone tell me if luma3ds protects you from sysupdater? if it does, i may be considering downgrading my a9lh'ed 3ds to 10.3 and check if his thingy works.

Don't do that. Someone bricked their console by trying DSiWare hax on an already A9LH'd system.

Not on 11.0 and higher: on these firmwares there's a hardcoded system title list (I believe) that prevents the installation of system titles below a particular version number. This is why dsiwarehax is necessary in the first place.

Yes. Proc9 is the cause of this. DSihax works by circumventing the list by providing the files Process9 expects, waits for the hardcoded check to pass, then replaces those titles with the downgraded titles. @astronautlevel explained this better in a different thread.

There's a bug on 11.0 and 11.1 that allows you to bypass the list, but the dsiware downgrade is more convenient, so I'm not sure if anyone is working on a bypass anymore.

No, I'm pretty sure you'll have to be able to access and run the exploited DSiware game in order to downgrade.

According to this thread, basehaxx should still work on 11.2 with the 11.1 payload.

As for Sun/Moon requiring an update, we'll just have to wait and see, ctr-httpwn might be able to mitigate a requirement if there is one.

well the su/mo limited edition n3ds xl is going to be on 11.0/11.1 so, its probably not going to require an update to play it...

So, I have a few questions that may or may not involve hours of scouring the net for information I may or may not understand. That said, I'm not sure if this is even the right place to post this but here it goes.

I recently system transferred my Ocarina of Time Old 3DS to a New 3DS. My Old 3DS originally had a 4 Swords license on it, being that it was the OoT edition. However, now I am stuck on 11.1 with no DSiWare games to speak of. Although, I have borrowed a 3DS XL I can downgrade to the proper firmware to perform the System Transfer on, though, I have little to no experience with the 3DS CFW installation as of yet. So, what I am now wondering is this:

Can I install DSiwarehax using my standard OoT3Dhax?
If so, am I screwed because I do not have any DSiware games currently on the console already and cannot without updating to 11.2?
If not, would it be better to wait until Slowhax is released? Or am I better off fully downgrading and hacking the XL to use the system transfer method?

To lower myself with the other noobs out there, I apologize for my inability to find clear-cut information. I haven't been on the hacking scene since the PSP and am completely unclear about the capabilities in the 3DS scene.

You need a homebrew entrypoint (such as OoThax) to install dsiwarehax.

If you're able to boot into the homebrew launcher with OoThax, you can use ctr-httpwn to access the eShop without updating, so you can redownload Fours Swords (if possible) or download Fieldrunners or Legends of Exidia so that you can install dsiwarehax (via when a 11.0-11.1 kernel exploit is released, or you can just do the two-3DS DSiWare downgrade if you'd prefer. I would say it's not really about being 'better off' doing one method or the other, just whether you'd like to wait (for a kernel exploit) or not.
