So I had Luma3DS 3.6.1 installed on my 11.1 new3DS. I updated to 11.2 without checking to make sure I was on the latest nightly build of Luma3DS .. well now all I get it a black screen when trying to load up my 3DS. Doesn't matter if I hold down start, x or y .. nothing but black.

Any help?

I also had Luma3DS3.6.1and updates to 11.2 and everything is OK,I don't think something wrong with luma.

Maybe something else did the brick, can you check the SD card?

@dudemo
Did you try holding SELECT as suggested? Also, try actually replacing /arm9loaderhax.bin on your SD card with the hourglass9 payload and see if that will boot.

It's not my console. I was merely pointing out that payload buttons were attempted without working.

@mashers Yes, I tried both of those things. I don't know what caused it .. but I'm pretty sure it's bricked.
If it won't boot any A9LH payload at all from the SD card then it would seem to be bricked. The only other thing you could try would be another SD card on the off-chance there's a problem with that. I seem to remember a case where the SD was readable and writeable on a computer but the 3DS wouldn't read it.

If even that doesn't fix it, then your only option at this point is to hardmod and re-flash a known good NAND backup.

Sorry bruhhhh, but it sounds like you bricked... I updated both my N3DS on Luma 6.3.1, I wonder what could have gone wrong.

Let me know if you ever find out!

Well, one of the easiest test is to remove the SD and boot the console.

Does it boot and immediatly shuts off or does it stay on with the black screens?

If the first, then it's missing the arm9loaderhax.bin and it's not bricked.
If the second, then you have a brick.

Or try to launch some combos on boot and see what you get:
Boot*:System Update: L+R+UP**+A
Circle Pad Calibration: L+R+Y
Touch Screen Calibration: L+R+X
