Please be serious in this thread
I explain, this forum will be all about people who wants to learn to program.
There could be sub-forum for main language like php or html or c++ or java and such
It will be all about programming.
Exemple of question allowed :
I've done this piece of code but code::block tells me there is an error, what have i done wrong?
(you forgot the ; at the end of that lane)
Exemple of question not allowed :
I'd like to know how to crack that game so i can play it for free.

This forum will be only for people who are learning how to program and have basics knowledge.
The only question a complete Newbies could ask is :
I want to learn c++, i heard this was the main language used for video game and i would like to learn it.
And even that would be useless since, I guess, some sticky would indicate some tutorial about programming.
This forum won't be for people who have question about "how do i do this?" but more like "I've already learnt that, but it seems I have done something wrong, what could it be?"

This forum will not replace the "3ds hacking" forum and such since there are already forums for that, so question like "I've managed to do this homebrew for 3ds, but there is a huge bug in it, how do i fix it?" won't be allowed and moved to the "3ds hacking" forum

Finally, I just need to specify that this forum would be for people who are already learning language and who have problem with their code, not for people who wants to do project and want to ask how to acheive it.

So please, answer the poll if you think it would be usefull or not.
Think about it, maybe it could lead to some project from this community :)
It would also extend our community to more people who are not interrested in console hacking but are in programmation. So what do you think?

IMPORTANT

Vote I don't program if you don't programs, don't vote No

It matters so we know if there are not enough people who programs here

If someone wants to go through defeating a PC AP system then that might be able to fly, we have certainly held the exact same discussions for other current games for years. Whether hosting the end result could happen is a different matter.

With that said the usual demand or obviousness test that new forums tend to start life as falls at that hurdle as the forums (or the present umbrella forum http://gbatemp.net/forums/computer-programming-emulation-and-game-modding.268/ ) are neither flooded and nor is it particularly obvious -- nobody is probably going to abandon spiceworks or stackdev, especially if we are not also going to get the crazy markup stuff they have at those sorts of places. There are enough programmers around here that most of the homework/my simple program/my custom emulator function/my game project type things can get answered.

Were it to happen I would not go on record as calling it a bad idea but I am not seeing the benefit for here over what already exists.

thanks for your share,
but for the link you sent, I'm not talking about a forum about software, but a forum specificly for programming. The place where I'm learning has good tutorial (in french), but when I have to ask a question, it takes ages before I get an answer. This comm8unity is pretty active, so I'm sure I'll be able to get answer lot faster.

I would also be glad to have a computing (instead of programming) forum both for helping and get tips when I need them
remember old days when in C++ i spent hours to get why vector<vector <int>> was wrong and you had to write vector<vector<int> > (with a space) for it to compile until the C++11 norm came out ^^
I spent a tremendous time to find that it was a mistake since on the course I first followed they made mistakes and i had to learn myself with the errors they were teaching until i switched to another book (accelerated C++) which finally was properly made =)

That is for programming, hence the so you want to learn to program sticky (short version is http://programming-motherfucker.com/become.html + https://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6B940F08B9773B9F ), it does emulation and game modding as well but none of those flood the forum such that others can not get a look in.

On other computer issues
http://gbatemp.net/forums/computer-software-and-operating-systems.269/
Does much what it says and handles general software and OS type questions, and is also where some are to be found for video editing and the technical side of audio-visual-graphics-3d modelling....

For hardware related stuff, upgrades and what have you there is
http://gbatemp.net/forums/computer-hardware-devices-and-accessories.270/

The umbrella forum for this and the others mentioned
http://gbatemp.net/categories/computer-technology-and-gaming.272/

i'mcurrently learning c++ and i just begun touching the subject of object.
i think i'll need help soon, and i really think this dedicated section would help lot of us who want to learn like me.
i honnestly think it would be a plus for the site and that it would bring more members (not that we lack of member)

I support your idea but in worst case you can still go on stackoverflow, I think it is the best forum out there when it come to programation ^^
people are very active but just one rule : RTFM before you post otherwise they could be a bit agressive ^^

Initialism of "read the fucking manual". Basically show that you are not just giving up at the first hurdle and asking someone that knows.

On getting new members then it can randomly happen, however there are plenty of places for programming already and that tends to mean you will want to have some incentive to join. Time was you could host things but today with the dozens of open source repositories that is less useful, otherwise there does not seem to be an incidental collection of any particular niche ( https://www.hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php has a whole bunch of audio programmers, some other places (used to be emuforums but they seem to have vanished when I was not paying attention) had emulator authors and so on and so on.
