In games with a lot of updates (v16, v32, etc) I just need to install the last? Or in the Nintendo servers always be a single update file for last version?
Same question

I never want the wiiU online ever. When we grab the updates, do we just set it to "latest" or do we need to DL all of them in order?

Latest.
Worked for me with MK8
EDIT: If you don't want your Wii U to have online accessibility, then why don't you just use Loadiine?
EDIT (Again): Nevermind, Loadiine still have issues running some games like Smash, and Pokken. Well I always encountered issues with those two games on Loadiine.

That's what I'm doing until now, but in case a new fw update appears I want to know how to update games "manually"
A game's updates all use the same title id. So you just use that one id and it downloads everything it needs to be up to date with all of the updates. It also includes a title.tik to use when downloaded with nusgrabber or other nus downloader.

Well, I have them blocked 24/7, not sure if/when Nintendo will release another firmware update, but I assume I'll need to temporarily disable when I install the game, oh well >.<
You can disable it and let the updates install just fine.
In case Nintendo pulls another update while you are doing that, the Wii U kindly prompts you in the screen that the "Update will now be installed"
Once you see that message, that's your cue to turn the Wii U off.

Biggest reason is loading games from a HDD and not an SD card.....

So I've two USB HDDs, one is 500 GB, the other is 1 TB, and I'm thinking of splitting up the 1 TB into two partitions, one for FAT32 and the other for NTFS, as I want to use the 500 GB solely for Wii U USB loading. Is it possible to even split up the 1 TB HDD into two partitions/filesystems with data already on it? I ask as I really want to test these games out and not have to sacrifice the 1 TB HDD, you know? :P I want to help test these games without having to use them on SD cards, as USB loading is faster.

Okay, here is a new update.
The games that are installed and updated from Nintendo are

Splatoon (Works online)
Super Mario Maker (Works Online)
Pokkén Tournament (Works Online)
Smash Wii U (Works Online)

Games that uses online features

Super Mario 3D World (Miiverse features works)
Watch Dogs (Connects to Ubisoft fine)

I am moving games to a bigger flash drive then will be trying out Paper Mario Color Splash

You can, but is dangerous (for the data). You have to defragment the disk and after that you can resize the partition to the size of the data in it or greater. Then you create a new partition on the free space

Hmm, was afraid of that :O Guess what I'll what I can do is copy the data from my Nintendont-dedicated HDD (500 GB HDD, FAT32) to my PC, then back that up on my 1 TB HDD (NTFS) and sacrifice the 500 GB for Wii U in the mean time. I don't have the means of getting another USB HDD for the time being

That is if you can. Good luck though. My 256gig flash drive is formatted with my Wii U and when I put it in my PC, it says Windows needs to format drive "x" before use.

Yeah, Windows freaked out when I tried to use my Wii U HDD (well, before I formatted it back to NTFS) saying it "wasn't installed properly". What I did was take Western Digital's SMART utility and formatted it back, it was a pain. So, until I can get another HDD, I can't think of really any other method to use Wii USB loading with. Still, it'll be a lot better/faster than SD loading I'd think.

To reiterate, 500 GB HDD is FAT32, I transfer the files over to my NTFS HDD and format the FAT32 one to Wii U format (which I assume is like WBFS?)

It will be a lot faster than a SD card. Plus online capabilities!! Good luck though.

From the title database I see nes and snes games.. like super mario world and such.. is it fine to install them same way as I do for wii u games? or I can't play them?

Guys how should I manage the UPDATE and ONLINE play? Should I disable DNS internet block before I launch the game?
