Hi folks,

Have a problem I need help with and I've run out of ideas of what to search from existing pages.

Currently running 9.2 N3DS, with Emunand updated to GW3D 11.1.0-34E. I had several eshop games installed.

I'm not quite clear on what happened at this point but either upgrading my emunand FW or GW version (3.4.1) broke something and I couldn't boot into emunand.
At this point I copied a backup of my SD card, formatted the SD using GW and used multinand creator to inject an emunand backup made earlier (GW3D 10.7.0-32E).

Now even after copying the backup onto the SD card, I don't have access to my games. I am able to re-download games from eshop but what I would really like is to have my old games and saves loaded from the SD.

I did notice that the now restored emunand is using a different user folder for storage in the SD card from the original.

Is there anyway to get the 3DS to be re-associated with the files from before the emunand restore?

Thanks in advance!

Since the user folder changed, what you would need is:
1) A backup of the Nintendo 3ds folder
2) The movable.sed from a NAND backup of the emuNAND

That will be the only way to recover at this point. Once those folders are created, it uses the movable.sed to decrypt the files in those folders.

1) This, I have. no problem.
2)Does this movable.sed not come through from the Nand injection process? At what points does it create a new folder? The purchases are still linked, is this dictated by something else?

The file is part of the NAND itself, the NAND scans the SD card for the folder looking for a match with the current sed and if not it will create the folder. When using a format/system transfer, this will change and you will lose the ability to decrypt the files in the backup directories without a previous NAND linked to that folder.

This is the main problem for you recovering the saves. Problem is that at some point between your NAND backup this changed and therefore the folders are no longer linked (hence why you don't see the games and even after redone loading the games, the saves are missing)

Without a more current NAND backup with the correct link to the Nintendo 3DS folder, you will find it hard to recover those saves at this point. But at least you will be able to redownload the games, so not all is lost.

I see. Thanks for your help. Lesson is to make more regular backups I guess.
