Hacking safe a9lh installer stage 1/2 failed?

I downgraded a small N3DS from 11.0-34U to 9.2 successfully on the first try.
However, I get this red error when I get to Step 3 and use the OTP less safeA9lhinstaller. It asks me to confirm with a series of button presses.

I restarted the 3ds, tried it again, same error.

Downgraded to 9.2 again, tried again, no dice. I ended up downgrading to 2.1 and had no other problems.

I was wondering what happened so I could avoid this in the future. Tried Google ing but couldn't find anything besides the code string text.

Downgrade to 2.1 then do OTP one instead. Beware that N3DS can't put to sleep on 2.1 FW.
Right now OTPless has a chance of bricking your console.

Edit:: Did you mean, the error occur after you press buttons in order?

Confirm if you got a successful downgrade by opening something like decrypt9 and making a nand backup.
If not downgrade to 9.2 again

It happened when I press select to install a9lh.

I've already downgrade to 2.1, installed a9lh and upgraded to 11.0, I was just wondering what happened.

When you press select, it ask you to press a set of button (right,down,a,b,....etc) right?

Yes correct. I haven't encounter this before. Do you know the reason for this?

New safety feature. The stage 1 and 2 payloads should have SHA files with them that go in the same folder to verify them. Guide may be out of date. You would have been fine using the button combo to bypass the check and install it anyway.

Yes, this one is the answer. Well, since there are 2 console bricked by OTPless method already. I think right now we should use OTP one until we discover the source of problem.

Ah, so I had outdated files in the a9lh folder and i just needed to download the newer versions?

He means the guide is outdate since right now A9LH file doesn't include SHA hash for checking. You need to press those button set to bypass it.
If you followed OTP A9LH guide, you should have lastest stable A9LH file already.

Yes, this one is the answer. Well, since there are 2 console bricked by OTPless method already. I think right now we should use OTP one until we discover the source of problem.

The source has been found and it was fixed in the latest version. The people who bricked had faulty SD cards. This is now checked for before installing.

I looked at those 2 person threads, no one answer about faulty SD card.

I just checked and the .sha files weren't in my folder, downloaded the latest release of arm9loaderhax and it was there. Thanks to everyone who helped!
