who doesn't love to use abbreviations when talking about certain pokemon games?

so far it has been kinda simple, we just use the first letter of the initials. in the remakes they have a 2 word name, so we use first letters of both words. the only exception being platinum, the P is already used for pearl..

R/G/B/Y (red, green, blue, yellow)
G/S/C (gold, silver, crystal)
R/S/E (ruby, sapphire, emerald)
LG/FR (leaf-green, fire-red)
D/P/Pt (diamond, pearl, platinum)
SS/HG (soul-silver, heart-gold)
W/B (white, black)
W2/B2 (white 2, black 2)
X/Y (no need to explain but in case you are wondering: X, Y)
OR/AS (omega-ruby, alpha-sapphire)

so now we got the 7th gen games, Sun and Moon which makes me asking...

the S is already being used for silver, between "Sn" and "Su", "Su" looks nicer...
but how about Moon?
the letter M is free, but should we still call it "Mo" "Mn" or just like before, the first letter "M"?

also, the days of the week (in bulbapedia and other similair) reefer to Sunday as "Su" and Monday as "Mo"..
so how about abbreviate the games as "Mn" and "Sn" the thing is, it doesn't look that pretty :(

I don't like people calling SM or S/M SuMo as to me it's like sumo which makes me think of Hariyama... We don't call Ruby and Sapphire RuSa...

I agree with you to some extent, but I prefer SuMo to S&M. For obvious reasons.

Edit: Oh, and as a note to the OP. Avoiding simply using S for Sun doesn't make sense. Red and Ruby are both abbreviated to R, but since they're grouped with the other games of the generation, everybody knows the difference. Like RS is always Ruby/Sapphire and RB is always Red/Blue.

Honestly when I say it Sun and Moon are short enough titles I wont have to abbreviate, but I think that S/M is fine.
Exactly. I don't think it needs to be Su/Mo or something like that. S/M is perfect

I'll never understand why people don't like S&M just because it's commonly used to mean something sexual. Pokemon isn't sexual at all.. People really need to stop thinking everything=sex. SM/S&M= Sun and Moon.
