Hello GBATEMP I have a question, I have an MSI gt680r with a GTX 460M installed in it, now the 460m is pretty old as of now, so I have trouble running games on it. So I want to upgrade to the gtx 770m and put that in my GT680r laptop, my questions are, what would I have to modify for drivers, heatsync, and overheating problems? Also what about power? Would I need a now power adpater?

Thanks!

(P.S. Here is the link to the gtx 770m on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Alienw...60ac4b&pid=100010&rk=4&rkt=24&sd=331636621425 )

Just looking at pictures of both cards, it doesn't LOOK like you'd have to change much cooling-wise; you just need to make sure that the vRAM and chip itself are contacting whatever cooling solution your laptop uses. Driver-wise it should use the exact same drivers, but you need to make sure that they're up-to-date

Hm... Okey, thank you! After looking at a lot of websites on my PC's spec's I found out that my PC has an MXM interface, and I confirm that by flipping over the PC and check out the graphics card slot. I don't know if the 770m is MXM or not, I can't find if it says it is or not.

I think there is more than one MXM interface type. Did you try to remove your old card and have a look at it? The eBay 770m looks like a MXM card to me.

Looking on the website for my laptop (and graphics card) it shows that the 460m does have a MXM interface (very lucky it one of the first cards that did support it!) What I am most worried about would be flashing a Vbios, any ideas about that? Thanks! (p.s this is my laptop page https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GT680.html#hero-overview ) also, my PC is the gt680r so it has more power then the 680 but the same graphics as the 680 Again, Thanks!
