Mostly, it's a paranoia thing as a holdover from the rxTools/EmuNAND days. I know that there's nearly no chance of bricking after A9LH, but to my line of thinking, using a RedNAND is a first-line defense against that, since I'm not the most regular person about performing backups.
If you just use luma and never do any messing with nand, you wouldn't have issues, i haven't done a back up since installing a9lh and i been golden. :)

Luma is the safe CFW so it should be worth it.

I just saw the topic by Apache Thunder for his DS boot screen launcher and while watching the video idea suddenly came to my mind. This is the first time I see "DS part" of 3DS hack or DS native mode hack on 3DS or whatever the right way would be to call it.Would it be possible to make a homebrew to stretch upper screen when playing DS games so there is no black bars?

I see a lot of people don't have issue with black bars on DS games. And I guess picture would be even more degraded then but for me it would be much more enjoyable experience of playing DS games on 3DS while stretched fullscreen even with those degradations in picture quality.

Does anybody feel the same and would prefer it over default solution we are sentenced to?

Well, I got CIAngel downloaded onto my 9.2 SysNAND, which downloaded another copy of the clock app, so now it works in RedNAND as well.

In regards to the power issue, I'm pretty sure that the 3DS is designed to run solely on wall power if the battery's fully-charged and still plugged in, so that shouldn't be much of an issue.

How about a n64 Emulator? Someone managed to make a working PS1 emulator for the O3DS, so I think a N64 emulator would be cool.

How about a n64 Emulator
This has been requeted many times, yet no one has made it.... I wonder why?
A audio player that isn't limited to specific formats like the 3DS sound is. Or game music audio file player. would be nice much like foobar2000 and is plugins, or a sega swirl clone :)

When you think about it, there's quite a good selection of N64 games that would be really nice to play on the 3DS. If I knew how to program, and make a N64 emulator from scratch for the 3DS, I would in a heartbeat. Imagine Playing DK64, or banjo kazooie on the 3DS via a N64 emulator.

Due to limited hardware, I doubt many N64 games would run full speed. As awesome as this would be, I don't see it being a realistic possibility.

Well, we have an PSX emulator out there. Runs like a slug, but is there. An N64 MAY be possible, but the result may not be what people are expecting.

I expect Diddy kong racing port and Donkey Kong 64 3D :P
Oh, umm...

  • Super mario 64
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Doom 64
  • Excitebike 64
  • Superman 64 :P
  • Megaman 64

You see where i'm going with this? every game with 64 in the title should be on 3DS
STAR FOX 64 3D is, And both zelda games are. Where the heck is the rest!? :D

Ok, theory time.
This is probably a stupid theory but ill try anyway. If we can exploid sd icons with menuhax, could we do the same with the system app for nand access?

...like I said, "I doubt many N64 games would run full speed." Not saying its impossible, just not worth it.

A text hooker plugin for NTR for use with Japanese games; like a mix of ITHVNR and the Rikaisama Firefox extension.
You would be able to tap words with the stylus on the NTR menu to check definitions, and export them to a text file to later add them to Anki.
