Um, so I used save editor and put in some armor i wanted in an empty item box. I made sure the item Ids matched and everything was perfect, then I gave myself Max Money, Hr 100 and 1500 in all village points (Bherna Yukomo, etc.). I saved then I renames the file to MHGEN12. Then I put it on my SD card, and used JK save editor and imported the MHGEN 12 file. I go into game and on the save slate it shows (MY PLAYER NAME) HR 100 Zenny 99999. Cool It worked! Or so I though, as i go in game none of the armor is there the Zenny reset to what I had before and so did my HR (before was 72), however the Village points stayed. Any ideas as to why?
EDIT: Ok so i didn't rename the file this time left it as system and suddenly it worked haha you may want to write that warning in the front of this forum so dumb people like me don't change the name of the file :,)
1.System should stay system
2.Also always make sure to have a backup of your unedited file because you never know in what way you could bug the game by editing certain stuff and also if you edit your HR beware of Sherlock's who will investigate your HR and compare it to your Quests done in total or the recent log f.e xx achieved 100 hunts with DB recently but xx GC says 1000 because he edited it recently since the GC editor doesn't modify the recent logs and because of that player x gets kicked out of lobbies but he doesn't know why so he comes to the source of his hack and asks weird questions.
@the topic with the unlocks
Every armor that requires a quest needs its quest to be done (Toka, Blue/Red Guild Set, R, S series) because the game needs to have both requirements set to 1 compared to the event quest that are like any other craft able armor only item bound (coins,Tickets).
The weapons that are getting unlocked are the "Base" weapons , so you will still need to upgrade it to the weapon you desire.
And i advise using Kiranico to look up the req. mats that you need to unlock the piece officially for the game
Today i tested the Quest completer to see how my save file that wasn't HR 80 will be influenced since a saw many people getting negative results,
The results were positive,
No game crash, corrupt file, HR reset or any other anomaly.
But i think this is the best order to do so that the game doesn't get messed up
1.You should have
finished the Key quest and beaten Narkakos to unlock your HR and get your 2 digits HR .
2.Either you edit your HR above 80 or it is already above 80 so that you can get all quest done because some speech bubbles don't appear below 80HR
3.Always have a
Back Up save of your
working file and unedited
4. is
Step 1, 2 and 3 True then proceed to step 5 if
false then do it
5.Make sure to have the Back Up file on your PC in a folder named correctly then proceed with the Quest completer ( Don't edit your Back Up file )
6.So now your file should have been edited and imported back into the 3DS and your game running.
7.If everything went correctly you should be able to see alot of yellow and some red speech bubbles , like
dendoh mentioned above
talk to everyone so that there is no speech bubbles left (will take a while) and also try to
switch villages because the yukomo village tends to have a lot of bath requests that don't appear right after you finished talking to the current one because there are different people you have to talk to who only appear if you switch areas , going into your house won't work.
8. No speech bubbles left? if yes take 3 Kelbi Horns and do the Kelbi deliver Quest in the Village HR1 tab , after you finished the quest more speech bubbles appeared ...
repeat part 7. (the quest is also good if you need to use the transpurtor to unlock the items if bugged out and train palicos sinc eit counts as a round or searching for a certain skill palico and you don't need to worry about the kelbi horns because you can buy them from the Weeb cat at the farm)
I am not sure if it was in the first part 7 or the 8th but some quest will need to be done by bringing the required stuff to the Cat in the Palico farm but if you imported the items from the main page it shouldn't be a problem.
9. Cong. you did it i think...
If the armor isn't showing up just run a armor unlock-er.
That's what i did and it worked without any problems and in the online Hub your name will be shown in Purple/pinkish.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------side note that's ment for certain players-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
regarding the guild card, i would avoid sharing it if major edits were done f.e 9999 Hub Quests or only 1000~ish but your monster hunts are not matching the numbers and your playtime and the weapons used (
best indicator is your current HR + Total Hub Hunts combined with the playtime on the first page of the GC that will tell the others that the player is not legit)
my untouched save without any editor used on it has 2k~hunts , ~600hrs of playtime and HR 550~
so either you decide to never ever share or trade your GC in online HUBs turn off GC share via Streetpass and have friends think of you as a cheater and won't play with you anymore or you invest some time in some research in how a legit GC will look like and edit it similar to it ....but if you are new to MH and goes straight into a lobby of people wanting to do an Alatreon or any level Special Permit and carter 3 times in 30 seconds, please do some solo hunting and get a feeling of the game and study some Monsters (movement/patterns) and then go into a online HUB (
this part shouldn't be meant to be offensive but only an advice to keep the MH community not hatefull towards "us" people )
sorry for any typos
