So, my 3DS crashes when i insert this R4
hZ52wBx.jpg

When i insert before i start the 3DS it doesn't start. I have rxtools and all that sexy stuff setup but i don't think it's because of that, because it already didn't work before i installed all that stuff. I'm using a firmware from this thread:
This happens:

The background music of the home menu still plays but it crashes.
plshlp kthxbye

Try patching your twl firm or even better switch your CFW to Luma3DS it will automatically do it for you AND it's a way better cfw!

If you don't know how just go to the Lum3DS download page and copy, 3DS, Luma3DS.dat and the luma folder to the root of your SD card. And delete rxtools stuff!
Tried Luma3DS, it didn't work. Still crashes after inserting the R4. But hey let's see the bright side of things, i got Luma now!

I never used emuNAND for this because i'm using the Slot-1 Launcher, and you can't use that in emuNAND because it's a DSIware application (I tried putting it in while emuNAND was running but it also crashed there).
Well it's not going to boot from SysNAND, it's unsigned software.

I'm using Luma. Watch the video above to see what my problem is.

Here's a little video to clarify what my problem is.

that's weird, did you try closing your 3ds (puting it in sleep mode) and opening it again? it seems like a problem with the r4 itself. Do you have any means to test if it works?

sadly it's a common problem with flashcarts :/

you should get the SDCard out of the flashcart, disassemble it if possible, put a piece of not-so-thick paper behing the contacts (so behind the PCB), then re-assemble it again, put the SDCard back in, making sure it contacts with the flashcart properly, then try to re-insert until something happens. this happens to me every time, and I doubt anyone knows the exact cause of it. my only logical reason is that when the flashcart can't contact with the SDCard properly, the flashcart messes up, and shits itself, sending garbage to the 3DS... or if the contacts don't touch the 3DS properly, then that's the other reason why.

edit: some flashcarts are so picky, that even if you TOUCH the flashcart while it's inserted, it no longer can contact with the 3DS, resulting in a freeze/crash

Welp, mine also does this, but after a lot of trying it'll show up eventually. Those 2-3 people must have a bad luck, since if it were busted, it wouldn't show up at all, and it wouldn't crash the system :P

nah... not going to risk my precious 3ds keep crashing for this cheap r4. I'd rather buy different brand. r4 sdhc is a joke.
