Go into System Settings on your 3DS and look at the top screen. Can you tell me what the number says at the bottom right?
I bought a new 3ds XL with ver 9.9 on it. Then followed Plailect recently updated arm9loaderhax guide on reddit to downgrade.

Now it says 9.2.0-20E. So it's my firmware I have to upgrade?
According to plailect's guide I can't cause then the system will brick.

To be honest I just downloaded the homebrew/followed his guide to get the freeshop working and to get the games. It's rather dumb not being able to play the newest stuff after all that.

Do you have A9LH or Emunand?

It can't download to your 3DS because the game contains something that doesn't support your firmware.

Using arm9loaderhax, that's A9LH right?
Yes, but this thread isn't the best place for CFW support. There are many threads and guides for that. But if you had followed Plailect's guide completely, you would have latest FW. There is a step near the end:

Update your CFW SysNAND to the latest version using system settings (if it is not already)

Ah damn, alright last question, can I still update it after completing the guide without causing a brick?
I thought updating through system settings would brick the ds.

If you have done everything in the guide like setting up Luma3DS, installing A9LH then you should be good.

It won't cause a brick.

But wait until another person confirms this. I haven't been at the GBAtemp scene in a while.

Updating the firmware while having A9LH is safe

Great, thanks so much for helping!

Edit: Sorry i'm a nub but, so it's just -> system settings -> other settings -> system update that I have to do right?
First complete the a9lh tutorial (downgrade to 2.1 --> get otp --> install a9lh --> update with a9lh protection through systemsettings) if you upgrade without having completed the guide you will loose everything and are stuck on 11.0 with only homebrew userland rights and no freeshop

Ye i've done the whole guide, except update CFW SysNAND to the latest version. Probably missed it, i'm blind somtimes.

Okay, everyone who was having failures with larger games, getting "Failed to Install Content: 0xD8E08066", please test 2.0.4 and let me know if it persists.

You can try testing everything internet related. Turn off wifi switch in middle of download, suspend, close, reopen, unplug router and plug, or whatever. It shouldn't give the install errors and should resume install when internet is reestablished. Report any failures and how they can be replicated.

OK I have 3 n3ds consoles, all on the same CFW.

On two of them, if I try to download a game called "iSpot Japan" from the Freeshop, it crashes Freeshop.

One of my n3ds consoles, it does not crash when I try to download it.

It seems to be just this game.

Does anybody know why? They are all the same Freeshop version.

Think you need to enable region emulation (USA EN) for that game. Use the Luma Locale Switcher homebrew or make a text file as per Luma's instructions.
good idea, tried that but again only black screen :(
edit: tried again now it worked, forgot to enable it in boot screen
thank you very much
