I recently introduced a new 6x10 font into Decrypt9 (unreleased, you'd have to compile yourself) as default, and it turned out that was quite a controversial decision. While a lot of people liked it, a lot did not. In this thread you've got the chance to decide about the new default yourselves, via a poll. Screenshots below, and have fun!

Just to be clear: None of these fonts will be removed from the source code. You can always compile your own via make FONT=6X10 (or ACORN or ORIG) This poll is only for me to decide what font is the most popular and will hence be the future default.

You may also use this thread to discuss the pros / cons and to suggest alternatives. Keep in mind I can't use every font in D9. Maximum width is 8px, maximum height is 10px, and converting .TTF ones is difficult.

Slightly unrelated, but in GodMode9, the 6x10 font will be the new default (no changing this). That font gives me more room and also looks a lot better than the original one basically everwhere. See here:

I think the 6x10 font looks the best, and it's a good idea to use the same font for all the tools.

Uhm. I find ctrulib default font particularly easy to read because is a fixed size, big, bold font. I'm far sighted. I have in no way problems with the "linux 6x10" font (looks great!), but may you please add the option to make it bold? It would greatly help me read it on those pesky little screens.

Linux looks like a recovery for an android phone, i love it u.u
Original is nice too. Brings back memories of ol' DS homebrew.

The original font that Decrypt9 has been using. They're perfect for the 3DS's resolution, plus the Linux 6x10 font (first picture) ...is just plain ugly in my opinion.

For one, the original font is already slightly hard to read on o3DS and 2DS screens.

It looks more like something you'd use in a beta before you have an actual release.

I can hardly see the difference between Acorn & original. I prefer them over linux, since the linux is very small & thin for me. Please keep in mind there might be people who have glasses/contacts etc. that make things smaller too, some of them might not be able to read without glasses etc...

P.S. Bold linux might be more readable though!

Can't use the ctrulib font, sorry. That's not in the correct format.

Yeah I know. I was just defining a vague guideline for what I can most confortable read on the screens, in this poll that might be original format. Also I agree those fonts are usually not the most visually pleasant.

The bold font comment was just a quick workaround for a high contrast mode for more visually impaired people than me.
