Hacking Question about luma and SD

I borrowed a 3ds with luma on it, i dowloaded, from freeshop, some games and played then. I'm going to return it and I would like to know if I buy a SD and make a full copy paste would I be able to play from the new SD again?
I'm asking because I saw on the manual that if you backup your SD once you insert the new one the old one stops working, but since it's a cfw...

If you haven't formatted the system then the current Nintendo 3DS folder will continue working.

So, just to clarify, my friend would be able to play the games that I installed, saves included, but when I borrow again and exchange the SD everything will be the way it was when I returned?

Yep it should be. You could do a little test now. Copy everything into another SD. Put it in the 3DS and start a save file in a game that doesn't have one and play a bit. Swap SD cards, verify the same games are there, and open the game. Should have no save file. Put the new card back and do it again. There should be a save file now.

Actually I just thought of something. Are you using Luma with menuhax and an emuNAND, or a9lh on updated sysNAND? If the former, you also have to format the new SD card for emuNAND (use emuNAND9), make a backup of the emuNAND from the old card, and inject the backup to the new card. In this case, you'll also be saving things like activity log and Mii plaza progress to only be updated while you've got the console.

Guys I just did this but it didn't work, actually anything, except from the theme, went to the new sd.
Any ideas why this happened?

What did you do precisely? And is the console running updated sysNAND with a9lh, or plain Luma with an emuNAND?

A9hl and luma, I copied all files of the old SD card to the pc and after copied all of then to the new one.
They're not the same size, but there's plenty of space left.

The layout remains the same also the activities app.

That's pretty strange. If it's the same console, not using emuNAND, using a different SD card with the same files should have no effect. You definitely copied the whole Nintendo 3DS folder? I don't have any ideas for you sorry :-(

What do you see if you go to data management in Settings? Are the games there with X's? Or not there are all? What happens if you try to install a .cia file of a game you already have?

@Quantumcat The settings says that there's no 3ds content, and I copied everything I'll try to make another copy .

You can't just copy and paste if you are using system nand with A9LH as I'm sure there is a hidden system partition that also needs to be copied but then your be running the same files on two different systems and I don't think that's possible as each system has its own keys and stuff

It's the same 3ds, only different sd card.

What your trying to do is not possible. Each system has it own keys and this is why you don't see people sharing there own system setup files like emunamd.

Your just have to manually download everything again and if you got save files from games you want to copy then use a save games manager to export then import them

Guys it worked, I copied the files again using a USB reader and after an error message, saying that the sd could not be recognized and a reboot, everything showed up on the new sd.
It was due to my notebook sd reader.
