So it's working using the method that they are selling and they are just keeping it secret to make money......

Look at the first post of this thread.. the methods here are written in cleartext. Unfortunately as I have no access for a PS3 for a short time I can't provide any accounts for now for VHBL.

I've got a 3.52 PSTV and a (CFW) PS3.

Is there any limit to the amount of PSN accounts you can register? If not, I could start making accounts for the account swapping method.

And, is the sequence for the account sharing method correctly described as follows?
  • User sends me PSN details
  • I prepare a PSP bubble such as ARK or VHBL
  • I backup the PSP bubble with QCMA
  • I send the bubble to the User
  • The user installs the bubble with QCMA
  • The user (presumably) makes a new password to block my access to the account subsequently.
Is it really this easy? Are QCMA backups just bound to accounts, not consoles?

I'm particularly excited in this possibility because I want to try out the game sharing method described in https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-running-ps-vita-backups.432912/. This seems like it could be mutually beneficial.

Yes, QCMA backups are bound to accounts. In fact you can share any game you want with this method. This is made even easier by the fact that each account can be shared on up to three Vitas, so a single account is three fulfilled requests.

There is no limit to the amount of accounts you can register. If you eventually get banned, just get a VPN.

For backup sharing I recommend using my method instead (http://gbatemp.net/threads/mailwrit...-the-same-time-their-respective-games.430165/), voxel's method is harder, makes less sense and they both lead to the same result.

This is due to the limit on account activations, right? Is there any way to deactivate a console (on Sony's side, to free up the activation slot) that cannot connect to PSN due to being on an old firmware?

I had already done that method by the time you made this post, and though it seems to work I've been having some issues.
I got a digital copy of Final Fantasy X-2 on my console that was not registered to my main account. It worked, but it was a bit fiddly. Most of the time the game crashed in the loading screen when I selected either FFX-2 or FFX-2 Last Mission from the main menu, giving an error message NP-6174-8. However by using the PS button I was able to skip the error message appearing and make it into the game just fine.

I've already done it once for a poster here, I guess I could make it into a regular kind of service if there's enough interest.

At this point I'm getting a little bogged down in requests and the thread is getting cluttered also, I think if anybody wants me to make a bubble they can PM me.

So just to check, the method that metroid maniac is very kindly employing for people uses the account swapping method detailed in post #1? Which means it will require a separate memory card and account to the primary one?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
