So... I've tried to install the original Super Mario Advance on my 3DS (NN3DS XL with Luma3DS on firmware 11.0). The install process is perfectly fine and shows up on the home screen like normal. The only problem is when I boot it up. It gives the "save data is corrupt" white screen and prevents me from accessing the game. I tried looking for the values in HxD to patch it by turning certain values into zeros, but they seem to not exist in there.

I've tried messing around with the footer settings and even tried using the SRAM save patcher and that still didn't even work. It works fine in an emulator just not on AGB_FIRM.

Heck, I've even tried searching on Google and the only thing I can come up with is results of Super Mario Advance 4 which I don't want :P.

So... anyone know what might be up with this issue at all?

I had this problem with this title too, it has to do with the save type, did you build the cia yourself or get a prebuilt one from somewhere else?

I built it myself using the simple GBA to CIA converter.
Here's the settings I used for my AGB_FIRM footer as well.

That's the problem, for some reason the footer generator detects the incorrect save type for this game, change it to SRAM and try again.

tbh, I did try that one after if threw me that error and it still gave me some kind of troubles. Still shows the same screen when switching it to SRAM sadly :(.

That's odd, I could have sworn doing that solved this issue, it did for me.

Try one more thing, DELETE the game first, then reinstall it. doing so erases the save data, which is the last thing I can think of.

I've already tried that 3 times I believe. I guess my game might be having issues due to me getting it from RAM Dump I did on my Wii U, although the ROM is suppose to be identical to the original with minor changes according to Dat-O-Matic...

All I remember doing to fix it was changing the footer save type to SRAM then rebuilding the CIA and installing it.
Alright. Looks like I'll just wait on this then. My 3DS doesn't really want to cooperate today lol. So... I'll just wait until I can come back to this as I can't really figure this out lol. Anyways, thanks for helping me at least!

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
