Right now, from what I can tell, its a a9lh installer that allows you to boot without an sd card. Without the sd card you will be in sysnand with no cfw (obviously)
No. It doesn't do that. It'll give an error message if there is no a9lh.bin found. That's it. That is all it will do. Please read le OP.

Edit: The goal is that one day it will allow you to boot without an SD Card. But this is down the road and not now.

I don't think I'm capable of understanding why this is important to anybody anywhere except maybe a developer.
This would be extermly helpful to users. My friend who was on a9lh, sd card reader in his 3ds break (of all things) and he is getting it fixed, but still, this would be helpful

Your SD card broke, you order a new one. Meanwhile you can still use the console and even play some games. It's not that hard to understand.

We all agree that a 3DS without a SD card is a lot less interesting especially if you have a CFW but it doesn't have to become a brick either.
The console works "fine" without it, even with menuhax you can still use it. So it's perfectly understandable that devs try to fix that little issue. In the end it only improves A9HL.

So it's a step forward towards perfection. That I can understand.

Is this N3DS compatible?
Yes, if you check my screenshots, you can see I'm using a N3DS.

That is incorrect: First of all, it does not boot without an sd card at the moment. It simply allows you to launch from an altstage2 if your stage2 is corrupt (From installing a stage2 cfw such as KBG or Future ShadowNAND) Second of all, ShadowNAND will not be running stock sysnand, it will be running a cfw similar to SaltFW afaik.

EDIT: For some reason the posts weren't turning up on my screen until now and I got ninja'd D:

Buying a new sd card will not magically make the sd card reader in your 3ds work. As you said, "It's not that hard to understand."

Just a quick question. I already have a9lh V2 installed. If I wanted to install shadowhand version of a9lh, would I need my otp?

I still have my otp man. I just wanted to know if it was going to be used in the process

@Shadowhand
Do you think that you will release a non-screen-init version of ShadowNAND A9LH without the error screen at boot? Or just that version.
I assume the 'homebrew'part where the files go refers to the '3DS' folder where your homebrew stuff is located? And do we need the arm9 and arm11 files that come in the shadownand folder you download? Just asking these things to make sure I have the setup correct for when I use the installer in the future.

Put them in the /homebrew/a9lh/ folder. Always read the instructions.
No-screeninit is alreally implemented, check his github on the commits.
oh really? o_o I feel stupid now.

Once this is done I'm going for it looks nice just in case, will probably have to give it to my younger brother too. I trust him... but you never know what that guy might do!
