Hi all. Salut. Hola.

My little doubt is what files can i defrag (obviusly with osfmout if requires) for the best performance in my O3DS, MicroSD card write speed?

I know w/ a Class 4 the write speed its sucks bad but in case improve the performance of my O3DS

Edit: Forgot to say, my setup its an O3DS + A9LH with Luma run on sysnand (No emu)

For the same reason why you should not defrag an SSD.
You don't defrag flash memory. If you do, you'll just shorten its lifespan.

Also:

"Defragging an SD card/SSD is not very helpful. Defragging a hard disc is. The purpose of defrag is to minimize the disc head making large sweeps back and forth across the disc as it tries to gather the data for any given file by making that file contiguous. A flash drive has no moving parts. That being said. If you have multiple files downloaded from your computer to your flash drive and those files are heavily fragmented then perhaps the card will have to move more electrons greater distances across the card. But, you'd have to be an actor in Tron to notice the difference.:icon_ banana:"

It's not that you don't need to do that, it's that you shouldn't. Defragging an SD Card can lower the life of it, and you will gain literally no benefit from it whatsoever because of the nature of flash storage.

But explain why i don't need it.
Flash memory in memory card has the properties of RAM, which means any address can be accessed randomly with no more delay than any other address, unlike mechanical/sequential media.

Consumer memory cards have changed to meet market demands and cost. Access speed is not actually 100% the same for many cases, but there isn't much you can do about this.
You could try SD card optimization, but I suggest not.

Decrease life of my SD? This SD have 3 years with me. And i do it a lot of defrags lol. What a stupid reason. I do defrags to all my hard, sd, and etc drives. And never (or at least) dead.

Get a class 10 SD instead.

That... doesn't really make much sense. How does an SD Card get corrupted? Or maybe I'm just being stupid and it's a thing that happens sometimes.

He bought cheap fakes. There are tons of fake cards floating around. Always H2Wtest your cards.

Dafck? I didnt bought cheapest. Th h2wtest was false (NoFake) and for some reason both, get corrupted. I cant do anything on them, (Install cias, do a new emunand etc.)

Lmao, never use that defrag of windows. I use the defraggler from piriform.
defraggler also does something similar for SSDs. but i'm assuming you didn't know this. it's not the same as a regular defragging though. you should never do a regular defrag on a SSD.

I do a defrag on my SSD every 4 months. Or when i get 50% or more.
