I know people hate these types of threads but I'm really stuck on which cart to get.
My Device:
  • o3ds
  • Luma3ds
  • A9LH
  • Emunand
The main reason that I want a flashcart is to play ds backups as I see little development on the subject (playing on sd card).
I see three options, the R4I Carts, the Dstwo or Dstwo plus.
The R4 seems like the cheaper option but I am interested in the features of the Dstwos.
Does the Dstwo actually play better with the internal cpu it has?
Is the dstwo worth it compared to the R4I?

Your CFW means nothing in terms of DS flash carts. Anyway, I used to use whatever the latest in the R4 series was, and it did its job nicely (until I lost it...). Although, I hear the DSTwo is the superior flash cart. Either way, it'll play NDS ROMs!

You can run most emulators that you could run on the DSTwo without any card, because you're using CFW.
Your only problem might be SNES emulation, as BlargSNES(your best bet on o3ds) is pretty insccurate.
Don't know if the SNES emulator for the DSTwo is any better.
I don't know much about the DSTwo in general tbh.
I'd say go for an R4i, I'm using one on my own.
It's a cheap and simple NDS flashcart, but does its job without any problems.

I researched a bit and saw that the SNES emu supports more games (I think) as Star Fox works but was slow. Mario Kart works on it too it seems.

Yeah, that's possible, as I said, I have no idea of the DSTwo.
But I know that many SNES titles were remade for the GBA, which you can play via VC.
There are obviously many other titles that were not ported/remade and only run in a proper emulation environment(3DS VC or DSTwo(maybe, I dont know)).
If SNES emulation is worth the costs for you, go for it.
I don't know if my numbers are still current, but I got my R4 for 5€, which is like 5,70$.
The DSTwo costs iirc like 50 bucks.

I'm probably going to get a R4. Recommendation of where to get one?

If you only care about DS games. Then just get an r4i.

I use DSTwo, but thats cause I like having my GBA/DS games on it.

As for where to buy, check out nds-card.com, they are a GBATemp sponsor.
