At that point he might as well use Arch Linux.

I know that, it's just that PlaiSysUpdater was made because of how piss-poor SafeSysUpdater was at being safe.
Actually, what SafeSysUpdater did should be have been sufficient.

How much is documented on the CDN for ninty anyways? Just to humor our unlucky topic starter here, whats to say one couldn't spoof themselves as the update server that the recovery mode calls on for latest firm: so long as it's at or higher than the firm version they first attempted the downgrade on. I'm spitballing and haven't looked into this, I'll edit this when I eventually realize I'm missing a lot of things here.

I use basehaxx right now, is there something that I can use now to launch a more reliable exploit?

You didn't use PLaiSysUpdater.
The guide said I should use sysupdater...

What do you mean with user error?

He probably means that you missed this part:
-You are recommended to do a system format before downgrading, as it seems to prevent Soft Bricks (especially on New 3DSs). Also backup your SD Card, format it, then copy all files back. That would reduce brick chances too

from the guide you linked. Sorry for you.
