Sorry, but I just don't agree with that logic.
"Don't tell people to hack X, they'll cheat and get banned!"
It's bound to happen, and with that logic, there won't ever be custom tracks.

With the tools that are currently available, cheating is inevitable, people will cheat. And they completely deserve to get banned.

These guides have legitimate creative purposes. We can't restrain the scene from it's full potential because of those people.

I agree, that's actually pretty fair reasoning. You can keep it up there, then.

I tried to use the trainer to give myself more coins, but although it said it was injecting the value, the value wouldn't change. I am on 5.5.1.

You might be looking on the wrong thread. Ask BullyWiiPlaza for help with the trainer (assuming it's the one I think you're talking about). ;p

And obviusly when i load mk its normal. Have I do something else when i load mk to load cafiine files?

I could've sworn Mario's finished .szs file, especially when located in the driver folder, is called "Mario.szs".

Rename the .szs file to "Mario.szs", and it will work. "Mario_alb1.szs" is the wrong name and needs to be changed.

Sorry for calling out your hypocrisy. Encouraging people not to do 1-lap hacks while you had a hacked time like that on rTTC for a week is just funny. Not unlike the modder's chat on Skype where you said not to post pictures of hacks on Miiverse while doing it yourself...

So, recently I tried to make a texture hack of my own but TexHackU, yaz0dec, and yaz0nec aren't loading. Whenever I open them it shows it for about .2 seconds and it closes. Does anyone know why this is happening? BTW, some background info about my PC: Windows XP, 32 Bit

That's because you're supposed to drag and drop .szs files onto yaz0dec. Do the same with .bfres files for yaz0enc. As for TexHaxU, the guide has you covered for the rest.

Just replace the file extension with ".bfres". It's virtually the same file (in a hex editor, the file identifier itself is always FRES for these files). ;p

I'm curious to see if raising the volume of all the music files would mean I could play while actually hearing the masterpiece of an ost mk8 has. Its so annoying there's no volume option.
