Is there any way I could make a cia file which would launch a .dat/.3dsx file upon launching it? Similar to the homebrew launcher cia, but for any file on my 3ds? (And no, I don't just want to edit the homebrew launcher cia payload to go somewhere else, as 1) I want to set my own banner, title and icon and 2) I already use the homebrew launcher cia, so I can't use it again)

To be fair, if you're editing HBL's payload, you can edit the banner, title and icon as well, and then compile it (with a different app ID). You'd effectively be creating a different .cia altogether and it would do what you want to do.

Oh, okay. How would I do this? Also you would need to change the ID otherwise it would conflict with the hbl launcher.

I do believe if you are running 9.2 with the homebrew launcher cia installed, you just need to replace the boot.3dsx with the CFW you want to boot into. So if it's Luma, just renamed the launcher to boot.3dsx
Although simply using ctrbootmanager is a lot easier.

I can't explain it in a helpful way, since I haven't done that many times (nor with expertise). You're probably better off reading guides on how to do that, sorry.

I think you may have misinterpreted what OP wants to do.

Well, my suggestion isn't completely wrong.
I mean, you can edit the homebrew launcher cia to launch a CFW.
But it seems like one of those things with a much easier approach to it.

I am running Sysnand 11.0 with a9lh, so I use the homebrew launcher cia for homebrew. Also in my post I said I didn't want to do that =/

I mean really all you'd need to do is edit the banner/icon, maybe edit the payload it's looking for (I'm not sure how you'd go about doing that atm, give me some time to research it) then edit the payload to load something other than boot.3dsx, ie luma.3dsx.

If you're on 11.0 it won't work anyway because launching CFW requires you to be on 9.2 or lower OR have a9lh. Once you've booted you can't launch it on 11.0, even with a9lh.
