Hacking Issues with Cart Updated System (Old 3ds)

Hello, so I just dumped my OTP and reupgraded to 8.1 using Super Smash Bros. Now I am on what I believe to be 8.1 but I cannot access anything. The system boots but after the home menu is shown nothing works. I can't open applets, applications, or manuals. Also pressing the power button locks my 3DS to a black screen. Does anyone know what has happened and if there is a fix? (I believe I wouldn't be able to install A9LH on 11.0 with my 3dsx right?) Also if it helps I started on 10.7,

Why did you not just restore the NAND backup you should have made before downgrading to 2.1?

Because I thought I had nothing to gain by restoring a NAND backup so I figured upgrading via cartridge would be faster in this case.

Nothing loss if I have to update via internet for me, I was mainly doing this for a friend, but thanks for the support.

On the plus side, the o3ds is capable of cart updating away from 2.1, atleast it wasn't an n3ds. Downside, there's no telling what state your 3ds is in because of updating it that way, and based on the fact nothing is working, I'd say it's not a very good state.

Atleast now you know to follow guides to the letter in the future
