ROM Hack Pokemon Neo X & Neo Y

I'm a bit confused how the mega balls are supposed to work. I have a Mawile holding onto a mega ball and I've gotten to the point where I can mega evolve my pokemon but Mawile isn't giving me that option.

Your mawile is holding a mawilite ?
And your character does have the key stone ? (the thing around wrist)

You need both to be able to mega evolve.

I seem to have done something wrong somewhere down the line..

When I open the rom hack in my homebrew menu I'm met with a bunch of loading screens and then a black screen with a column of random pixels down the left side of the screen. Nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

I'm currently using a 9.4.0.21E old 3DS w/ menuhax installed.

No. My Mawile is holding a mega ball. It was holding onto it when I caught it in connecting cave. And yes, I do have the mega ring. I read that the mega ball would act like a mega stone so I was a bit confused when it wouldn't let me mega evolve.

Neo X & Neo Y are rom hacks of Pokemon X and Y designed to offer the player greater difficulty through expanded trainers and better variety through edited wild Pokemon encounters along with a plethora of other features. NeoX&Y are pretty much identical at this stage.

Rom hack = a hacked version of the game.

You need a 3DS (obviously) and a gateway cartridge

Certain trainers for me cause a game crash. The screen would freeze while the battle was starting and then my N3DS XL would restart. I have built the CIA myself and I have tried prebuilt ones and they all do this. Is my save somehow causing this or is there something I'm missing? I have tried with and without the game patch. I have a N3DSXL with A9LH on 11.0 Sysnand

Probably yes, though I can imagine none of the dialogue that's been changed will be in Spanish.

Of course they're not legit. New movesets? New encounter areas? That will definitely NOT pass the checks.
