Hello,

I'm new to the n3DS scene. And if this is posted in the wrong section, please move or delete.

What I wanted to ask is if it is possible to make a NAND Dump on 10.7 n3DS XL without a hard mod.

(I've managed to do the hardmod but I don't have one of the necessary Card reader to make my Laptop recognise the SD card. The internal reader doesn't work apparently.)

I've got myself a copy of Cubic Ninja and was wondering if there's a homebrew application that can be loaded with the Cubic Ninja exploit on 10.7 that allows me to make a Nand Dump before doing a downgrade?

Thanks in advance

Nope.
But downgrading is pretty simple and brickfree if you know what youre doing.

The FBI 2.0 NAND dump feature is .cia .3ds only and not for the homebrew version. Also it doesn't dump the NAND from the ARM11, you still need ARM9 access.

Plaisysupdater will downgrade console to 9.2 only if verification passes.
Once sysnand becomes at 9.2, launch GW menu from hbl and do a 9.2 sysnand backup.

Plaisysupdater is a homebrew application I assume?
This application checks the system for a succes rate or?

DON'T USE GATEWAIT MENU FOR MAKING NAND BACKUPS
Use Decrypt9

Yes but I can only do that after I do a downgrade with no Backup of my current NAND.

In the Picture below you can see my Hardmod Female connectors. Grouped in sets of 2 signals per connector.

Left ---> Right
CLK, DAT0, CMD, GND

When I connect the SD-card and start the system it will just boot to the Home-screen.
But when I reverse the connector groups the n3DS does show me the Boot Error but only on the bottom LCD, top LCD fades to black and no message prompt to format the card.
Is there an explanation for the Blue Screen only showing when wrongfully connected and only on bottom LCD?

I'm happy to report I've succesfully downgraded my system from 10.7.0-32E to 9.2.0-20E!
It went without a hickup and was very fast. Even rebooted on the first go!

Thanks everybody!

PS:
As I asked in my previous post, can someone explain the SD card Hardmod situation?

thanks

Incorrect wiring. Also your card reader may not be compatible.

i tried restoring Gw 9.2 sysnand using GW menu and decrypt9, both successful.

Appreciated if i can be provided more info as to any impact of backing up 9.2 sysnand by GW menu. Thanks.

IIRC there is some more info about it on Plialects guide. It's basically that Gateways backup program wasn't that well written and has a risk of fragmentation of your NAND. Decrypt9 doesn't have that risk. I don't know the exact details sorry :P

Do you use cfw? If you do, boot into gm9, power, scripts, GM9Megascript, Backup Options, SysNand Backup, A, and done! (Takes a few minutes)

You may want to start checking timestamps. That post you replied to was from 2016. That person hasnt even been on gbatemp since 2016.
