Hi,

i recently followed along Plailect's a9lh guide on github and everthing works fine so far.
But i tried to figure out for what the firmware.bin from part 5 section 1 step 18 exactly is for.
Some user here are already on 11.0 and they pretend not using the firmware.bin (maybe because of the update).
So what is the point at all for the firmware.bin?
Do i really need it?
What is the downside if im not using it?

Sorry this is very confusing for me

which Custom Firmware Are you going to use?
CakesFW = must have (w/o firmware.bin Custom Firmware will not boot for you.)
ReiNnad = must have (same reason above)
Luma3DS = if you want to use NTR, you must have.

and you need proper firmware.bin for each Custom Firmware.

Using the 10.4/NTR firmware.bin is now also required for emulators that use dynarec such as gpSP and certain Retroarch cores because they removed svcBackdoor in 11.x.

Thanks for that info.
I'm not into use of cheats anyway, so should i delete the firmware.bin file if i update to 11.0.0.33 or can i leave it in?

Do you plan on using homebrew emulators that have dynarec like Retroarch or gpSP? If so, leave it in.

Maybe eventually.
Emulators are in fact a nice to have feature, so i can leave my old file in and this works still in 11.0?

Yes, the NTR firmware.bin (actually just the firmware.bin from 10.2) works with 11.0.
Where can I find firmware.bin, for use with Luma3DS + N3DS + BootNTR 3.4 preview 2? I'm so lost on what to do and how to make it work :c
And do we put the firmware.bin file in the luma folder?
