Homebrew Out of the loop - fix Pokemon save

My save was created using the 4.5 keys on emunand but I now want to use it on newer system software. Of course trying will say it's corrupted. Was any fix ever created?

extract it with savedatafiler. you'll get "raw" save data.
afterwards, create a new save in the higher firmware and then import the raw save data into the new save.

I know I'm digging up an old thread but I just got around to doing this. Savedatafiler just says the save is broken and won't allow me to do anything with it.

you need a old fw where the save is working inorder to extract it.

Yes it's still the case afaik. No way around it atm...
