Hacking What's most likely going to happen

We attempted to get the kernel exploit released. Obviously, it didn't happen. But now we know it's because of a variety of reasons. So, let's go ahead and wrap this all up because of the chaos it ensued.

• Final exams are going on in school, therefore, there isn't much time to do anything
• We have no backup kernel exploit. It may not matter to you guys, but it matters for the future.
• I have no idea why the "this weekend" thing popped up, it just made things a bit worse

I don't wan to burst the bubble, but this kernel exploit may or may not be leaked. I know as good as hell that it isn't going to be from the NSMBU community, but the others that have it may or may not. I'm not sure what will happen, but I don't think anybody does.

Oh, and stop shit talking about Marionumber1, he hasn't done anything wrong. I don't blame him for keeping it at all; this effort was to just get it out, but he said "no" for various reasons. He isn't "ignoring" anybody, it's just that times are busy for most of us.

Don't worry. Someone is probably gonna tell his friend and then his friend will leak it and ruin the devs hard work. I know that will eventually happen... Or Nintendo will patch it so they release it.

Don't need it anyway, I'm on 5.3.2. Personally I just wanted to move up firmware for testing, but fuck it. People on 5.5 might as well just buy all the VC and shit that they can use officially or give up and try to get another U.

As an engineer I understand part of the logic of not wanting to release a kernel exploit unless you have a backup one, but also as an engineer I can't help but think of this meme every single time that point is made:

Every new update Nintendo releases brings the possibility of increasing avenues of attack to find new exploits. Logic would dictate that if you haven't been able to find another exploit in the 6+ months since 5.5.0 was released that it might be a good idea to put pressure on Nintendo to hastily release another update before it's fully baked to have new code to try and exploit.

Release or no release, I am just happy whenever I get a chance to share that image

Without the exploits release there wont be a patch for it. Everyone is going to be waiting until support for the wiiu is dropped. Mark my words. I know you guys want to be in control of the scene, but every scene prior, including 3ds, once the exploit was released/leaked other people found ways to keep the system open. Stuff that the primary hackers never even thought about. Aside from the ps3 because of its lawsuits, every system hacked is still open and those devs released their work. So this philosophy of waiting out the corporations is flawed. Why try to fix what isn't broke?

Retail Stores are not the only way to obtain goods.

Your reply essentially says "I cant find a Wii U with hackable firmware so I deserve it".

The Wii U Serial Number Database is very incomplete. So yes, I do think it's stupid.
