It's probably a stupid question, but is there any sort of way to use my Acekard 2i card in my N3DS? Not for 3DS games themselves, just some DS games I wanna play. Its a long shot, but I hope there's someway
if you want to keep brick risk to a minimum i suggest you start off with a more basic setup than al9h (al9h is the goal of the guide linked above my post) . . . you should only use that guide to downgrade your console to 9.2 then instead of proceeding you should simply install luma3ds (a cfw) using this guideAny specifically? Gimme a link to a thread to start me out? Sorry, I'm very excited about this, I haven't checked about developments on 3DS CFW in a while and now there's something, I don't know where to start
My Acekard 2i doesn't run on my n3ds with patched white list. Pretty sure you'll need the twl slot launcher for that.
Yep! Luma3DS has the patched TWL_FIRM included by default, which will allow the Acekard 2i to run on the 3DS past firmware 4.4. So if you have A9LH/Luma3DS you should be good to go. Otherwise you can manually patch the TWL_FIRM.
Also you can downgrade your Acekard firmware to version 4.0 for a much faster boot time. I can't seem to find the firmware right now but the zip is named "ak2ifw_update_3ds4.0_dsi144.zip".

Okay I've hit a snag. I can't seem to downgrade my firmware from 10.7.0-32E until I have a homebrew launcher, but I can't get a homebrew launcher until I use the browser hax. However, because i'm on 10.7, I can't use the browser hax.
What's my first step to get a homebrew launcher?
You got cubic ninja or OOT with a power save? maybe a 2nd 3ds with hombrew and pokemon super mystery dungeon, those are the only way for hombrew on 10.7. Yeah biggest pain right now. I myself use cubic ninja as it is self contained and can work on just about any firmware. Thou that game has been going up in price sense the game was announced you could hack the 3ds.
If you have OOT3DS/PSMD, and a friend with a 3DS on version 10.5 or older/a powersaves, you can still hack your 3dsBalls :/ I've looked up CubicNinja before and it still hasn't gone down in price. Looks like I'm not gunna be able to hack it any time soon. I was so looking forward to getting CFW on my machine. Still can't believe they've opened up the kernel though!

Don't update chances are we might get a free exploit some time soon. For real I was so glad when i kept my 3ds on 10.1 then did my downgrade, the wait paid off.
There's no guarantee that another usable exploit will publicly emerge in the future. It's a matter of an exploit being found by a dev who is willing to share their work with the community. The early 3DS scene was stifled by exploits being kept private for whatever reasons those devs had at the time. Fortunately, we've seen devs become more forthcoming with exploits to the general public after a controversy let the CFW genie out of the bottle. The only saving grace that keeps the possibility for future exploits to be discovered is that the 3DS code is still written by humans, meaning that there's always a chance for imperfect code to be found and exploited. This is gunna sound stupid, but when do you think a new exploit will be found? Has there been lots of recent exploits, or have we hit a dead end for now?
Just wanna know if it's worth screwing around with buying CubicNinja now, or waiting a few days/weeks?
