That is cool and everything, but you can do really cool homebrew right now. You have almost full (or full?) mem2 ram access and have access to most of nintendo libs. The only thing that is missing right now is access to UHS, but you only REALLY need it if you want to run dumps from it/want to attach some cool devices. For everything else SD card is more then enough.

You seem to have forgotten that this is a thread about 5.5. Anyway, you're right about being able to do cool homebrew (on increasingly hard to find systems, anyway) which I really do want to do, but right now I just can't due to the firmware version I'm on. As for IOSU, I suppose it isn't strictly needed if you're okay with no usb access, no saving of any data to NAND and having to run an exploit from the browser every time you want homebrew. You also run the risk of Nintendo patching the kernel exploit (not a problem with what you saw in the video)
To me, that list is just too long to justify not researching an IOSU exploit.

Just make your own and stop posting shit on GBATemp ;)

Deal with it.
Oh yeah if everyone who ever complained about anything at all would just learn hardware and software engineering, low-level programming, and security expertise overnight and just make their own there would be no problems! I'm going to go do just that. Should be released by Christmas 2015, February 2016 at the latest.

There were to much messages, so I'll summarize what I think, cause it seems that people don't get what I meant:
1. I personally really want IOSU for many reasons.
2. For most homebrew apps access to cafe os is enough, so iosu is not a deal breaker here. Most benefits of iosu over cafe are related to piracy.
3. Saying that no IOSU blocks homebrew development is incorrect. We already have really nice infrastructure for wring homebrew apps for 4.0.0-5.4.0 and almost noone is interested in it. I don't see how iosu access can potentially change this.
What homebrews would most likely be released after iosu access and cfw release (even though there are very few devs really interested in writing apps):
1. Tool to backup/restore nand and create emunand.
3. Some sort of crypt service.
4. Tool for installing wud files (even though we have one that is already impressive, we would probably want version that can be installed into the nand and update system titles).
5. Tool for converting eshop content to wud files.
6. Tool for converting gamedisks/diskdumps to wud files.
7. Tool for dumping/encrypting/decrypting saves from hdd.
Loadiine/ddd would obviously gain benefit from iosu simply because dimok always delivers.
I would be really surprised if anything except this would be released (maybe except for the messing with vWii, cause gamepad support in vWii is first thing I'll look into if I have iosu access). And most of these tools are related to cfw management or piracy.

And permanent change to NAND ! Because it's so boring to open Web Browser each time you want to use homebrews

You would actually install that to the emunand, so not a big deal.
But I'm perfectly fine with opening browser. Especially now, when kexploit is much more stable, no need for browser restart and you only need one link (which is loaded automatically in my config) - you run homebrew launcher and any homebrew app from it.

Oh you have a exploitable wii u version ? I'm glad for you, but userland is sooo, boring. We can do absolutely nothing except waiting or play Pong (that is a good game btw)

You're doing something wrong when playing Pong is the only option avec une console with latest firmware and full eShop access and no game compatibility issues.

Ahahaha, why did you use some french word ?

Avec une = with a

And no, it does sucks, console can be spoofed, and can do the same as people with the lastest firmware

If y'all getting bored of userland crap, then wrap up that expensive, oversized brick known as your 5.5.X Wii U, sell it along with another unused console or two, and buy a
Splatoon disc bundle Wii U. Mine had 3.1.0 when I hooked it up to my TV and looked in the System Settings, and I was successfully able to update it to 5.3.2 using the Splatoon disc with no problem. Worked like a charm for me, and now I am having a great time with Loadiine and Unity for Wii U! ^_^

I hope this gives some highly-desperate people on 5.5.X in this thread some confidence to do the same thing! ^^

Don't want to spend money on that crap, i prefer develop my own kexploit or stay on my "unused brick"

Understandable, since you probably won't be able to afford one immediately at this moment in time.

that crap
I, myself, disagree with this statement. I particularly don't feel the Wii U is that much of a faliure. I think it is just lacking in 3rd party support and developer interest due to sales of Wii U games in general, and the Wii U itself.
I bet there are certainly some areas of the Wii U's hardware I think would be a good idea to make a unique game out of! ;)

Boy, you have more than 70 wiiu games
You should definitely have a lot of money

Go and get yourself a lower FW console it's just the same price as 5 games lol

Ive been waiting since before christmas for IOSU to surface. I have 70+ wii U games on disc and over 100 wii games on disc so piracy is of no concern to me, I pre order all new titles and usually have them on release day. I dont want to get rid of my existing console to get a lower firmware one because Im still in warranty and in all honesty a lower firmware console would be useless to my needs. I like my discs scratch free and thats the reason I want IOSU. Kernel exploit is of no use to me because I cant fit 70+ games on a sd card. IOSU will give me access to the usb and external hdd's in time.

Im bored from waiting. Ive tried to learn c and Im trying to get to grips with IDA but Im not a computer science engineer nor am I a gifted hacker so Im forced to wait. Is anyone else in the same position? I do find it sad many here just want loadiine and are happy with just that.

I appreciate all the great work coming out of @NWPlayer123 and @Datalogger . I do have a question. Are you guys 10% there? 50%? 99%? Im asking because Im thinking of giving up checking here day by day and simply going for a full collection without backing them up. There is nothing really there for 5.5+ users until something pops up, be it IOSU or kernel and watching all the 5.4 users get their plate full is making me a bit depressed.
I'm in the same boat man. I own all the games I want for Wii U and I'm more interested in cool homebrews, emulators and being able to launch the games from a loader instead of swamping the disc everytime. I think we're a minority though.
