The search function seems to be broken. I searched for Metroid Fusion and I got these results:
- Metroid EUR
- Metroid USA
- Netflix
- Tennis USA
- Terraria
- Tennis EUR
Just tested this: http://imgur.com/162yec6
Metroid Fusion shows up as the first result.

Also someone probably mentioned it, but if you do a search you can't exit without downloading something unless you force a system shutdown via power button.
It has been mentioned, and has been fixed by the changes I made recently that allow cancelling with the keyboard cancel button.

Yes, if you type the full name you get what you want, but it doesn't work if you type "Metroid" to search for all Metroid games and type "Mario" to search for all Mario games.
Ah, so when you said "I searched for Metroid Fusion" you meant "I searched for Metroid". When asking for support/giving feedback, being precise about steps is important, otherwise looking into the issue can be extremely difficult :)

Cearp is the one who did the search stuff, he based it on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levenshtein_distance to allow for fuzzy matching, But it appears Levenshtein Distance doesn't work too well with multiple words when filtering based on a single word.

Yes, it exists in the wings.json. Also someone probably mentioned it, but if you do a search you can't exit without downloading something unless you force a system shutdown via power button.
oh ok, that's annoying. and yes @Drakia made the flow of the program much nicer, i will upload a new release soon.
ah, so you can find the game, good.
just type more of the name, no problem. better than buying it right ;)

any idea on a better algorith? maybe ld is not too bad but others with different word order might really be slow.
but 1 or 2 secs is fine i guess, not painfully long.

Sadly I have no idea, I haven't done much in regards to fuzzy matching :(

Try searching only Fusion that game uses a funky ™ symbol
exactly why i had to add similar searching, otherwise we would need to type to weird é for pokemon, capital letters, etc etc... :)
but non 'english' name stuff... yeah too bad. no searching for jaoanese names.
it works on the computer but we can't display, or enter those chars in homebrew really

My bad, I should have said I was searching for Metroid to see if Metroid Fusion shows up.

Yes, ahem, I only use this for research purposes!

Btw, games installed this way aren't considered legit and can't be system transfered, right?

only only only stuff you buy will be transfered.
legit cia or not. only stuff you buy.
these aren't legit, we need cfw to play.
but the cia is good, it won't interfere with eshop, you can redownload.
some tools make bad cias, and you can't redownload or update in the future

That's a good question they should transfer over but I think they will disappear from the home menu until signatures are patched out.

Can you add for some way to cancel when in the search for CIA menu and to not install?

Well, you could always filter the strings when comparing to remove specific characters like ™, toupper everything, and possibly turning accented vowels into their normal form.

So I was researching ambassador games and the eShop and it seems even if you have a ticket installed for an ambassador game like Metroid Fusion, you can't redownload it via the eShop as it never shows up in your redownloadable games list. Non-ambassador games don't show up in that list either, but can be redownloaded directly from their eShop listing. Though I would not recommend that to avoid a possible ban of your NNID since you are logged in during eShop. At least the risk of a ban is a bit lower if you download stuff via CIAngel. Speaking of bans, at this point Sony would have released a mass ban wave across the world :ninja:

I assume fuzzy algorithms are complicated but is there any way to just implement wildcards?

Metroid* is easier to type than Metroid Fusion for example.

Amazing program by the way, it's almost comical how easy it is to get backups now.

jesus be patient. i said i will do it, but yes it is not built and uploaded yet! i'm still busy checking all my notifications lol ;)
The joys of supporting software ;)

This would be better done by having a cleaner .json file, as it requires less processing on the 3ds side of things.

Yeah, the redownload list is populated differently than the "Redownload" option in the eShop, so titles downloaded/installed through CIAngel won't show up in the redownload list.

Funny enough, without a regex library, I think this might be more complicated to implement than the current method cearp added :)

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
