ROM Hack Smash Bros. is broken, HALp

I just installed the game, and it goes to create the extra data, then it immediately says that
"an SD card error has occurred" "The game cannot be started because the SD card and/or extra data is unavailable".

I've reinstalled the game about 3 times now

i just want to work on my smash bros edit :CC

I didn't really mean to push this build, but it seems 5.1.1 was built wrong for some reason, and (still can't see why), it causes issues with local play in games such as Smash Bros and New Super Mario Bros 2.
The same code worked fine from a different build.
So here's a quick rebuild. The only changes from 5.1.1 were a general code cleanup and a FatFs update, nothing too fancy.

i've done that a few times. it'll definitely work on another sd card. problem is, i dont need another sd card. I have this one and all my other games work fine with it. I just don't know how to install the extra data, when the sd card keeps glitching out

you gotta have the double of the space the cia you're about to install excluding the cia

also, does the cia match you're region? are you using any patches in your sysnand(TWL or AGB patches)?

My emunand is region patched anyway.

I just updated to 5.1.2 and same thing : P

it's been region patched for a while now. and because i wasn't aware.

if I were you I would revert the patch... it's never good to have patches around specially when they are unecessary and they can and will slow your system

Don't you mean including the CIA? The installed title only takes slightly more space than the CIA itself. I had no problem installing a game when I only had slightly more than double the CIA file size free.

to inform those just reading the thread, no solution was met, and the game is still broken as shet.

did you manage to fix it?
I went to bigbluemenu and deleted the smash bros extdata from there. After that it was able to create extra data
i think u can delete the extdata with savedatafiler too
