a friend of mine she gave me her old wii u on 5.3.2 pure luck right?
i stumbled acoss this page
https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.396828/

i can boot the kernel exploit just fine via the web browser as explained in the page above via mongoose offline over my network
but what can i do now with it?

do i need to launch the kernel exploit every time?

is there access to the front side sd card reader or do i need to buy a sd card usb adapter?

sorry for all the noob questions all this is a bit overwhelming and i havent been on the scene since F0f first started

The Definitive Guide is going to be getting reworked soon since The Homebrew Launcher basically makes using the DefinitivePackage useless. I'll have new sections up for HBL, as well as DDD for making backups of discs for Loadiine, and probably just more linking to pages and threads in general instead of my own file hosting that quickly becomes outdated. :)

So, @kiiinglouie, I'd recommend to you to go look at the Homebrew Launcher for WiiU thread, and from there you can put Loadiine GX2, DDD, Saviine, etc in the apps folder of your SD card and run them through there.

i still dont get it? how is the definitive package useless?
the kernal exploit will still need to be executed via the browser and the rest like loadiine will be booted from the sd card?

Homebrew Launcher's installer includes the kernel exploit, with a reliability patch, and also auto loads HBL if it is successful instead of having to go through the browser again to launch it.

Try the payload532.html file from this zip with mongoose.

The wiiu folder goes on the root of your SD card, the installer folder is the html files for mongoose. More specifically, you want payload532.html You can ignore the code.bin's, they are for use with yellow8's browserhax.

It works the same as the kernel exploit. Just run the payload532.html

You can rename it to index.html and throw it in folder 'hbl' in mongoose but basically you just need to open that html file on the wii u. Bully's video explains literally everything so I'm not sure what you missed. It even covers editing an index file to add HBL...

You're launching the kernel exploit. Launch HBL twice like the video says. Lol. Or just use the one I gave you and run it once.

Edit: Also looks like you skipped a step @:35

i placed all the files onto the root of the sd card and inside the mongoose folder i know its R/W to the sd card it since i dumped random stuff from a game
when i hit the homebrew launcher icon itll run the payload532.html but simply kicks me back into you have no suspended software screen with either wii u home or wii u manual lmao

I look forward to that, because I haven't done anything homebrew-related to my Wii U in months aside from using the vWii mode :P

not a good idea to take anxiety meds before doing all this lmao
now yes i got it fully working seems my stock windows notepad editor was the culprit
installed notepad++ and it worked like a charm

so i still need to have some type of connection to my computer in order to atleast launch the the kernel exploit and the HBC correct? then after that any apps can be loaded from the SD card correct?

what are apps to mess around with ?
i was looking into loadiine but yikes looks twice as bad as installing the HBC lol
any retro emulators that will utilize the gamepad?

Yes, you will always need at least a LAN connection with an active http server at the minimum. WifiSD Adapters also work (EzShare is one if you would like to look into them. There are a few different manufacturers.)

If you are not using the latest Homebrew Launcher installer (the html file), you will need to run this html file twice.

There are several that I know of. I will list links starting with Loadiine GX2.

  1. Loadiine GX2
  2. FTPiiU
  3. Saviine
  4. DDD Wii U Title Dumper

There is an emulator for NES called LiteNES, but the Wii U VC games work and allow for fairly easy injection with some tools. There are threads here for them, but I do not use those, save for GBA.
