Well guys i have ordered a set of circle pad grips, and some peope on amazon in the reviews said that it broke/cracked their 3ds screen?

how does that even happen? supposedly if you keep them on it ,it then might damage the screen?

well, it would be really hassly to keep pulling it off it, so i would like to ask if anyone has been using these
>>>> http://www.amazon.com/Circle-Pad-Co...qid=1458815305&sr=8-1&keywords=3ds+thumb+grip <<<<

and like do you keep them on and close the lid and it does not damage screen or anything ? thanks in advance!

When the console is closed, the rubber screw covers on the top cover try to keep it a sufficient distance from the buttons and bottom screen frame, but -while they definitely improved from the small O3DS- they're still too short for the job.

The unmodified analog stick of my small N3DS definitely marks the top half, but it's well away from the transparent plastic. That one is only scratched from the bottom screen....

i am kind of scared to use them with my n3dsxl then , hmm i shall try them on my ogxl to see what happens when i close the lid.
i would be to lazy to keep taking them off every time i turn the console off though.

I use these
Clear Polyurethane Bumper Pads with Adhesive Back Protect and Cushion Surfaces (Pkg/250)
http://www.amazon.com/Polyurethane-Adhesive-Protect-Cushion-Surfaces/dp/B000EBVTV4

To protect from scratches on all my 3DS's as it significantly increases the gap between screens but not enough to look stupid or mess up the hinge. I put these in the upper left and right corners of the top screen to make sure they so not rest on the raised home button or home/start/select button area. These are polyurethane so they do not crush over time either which is good.

I have a cybergadget circle pad grip on my n3ds, and no it doesn't do any damage. I can't say for certain if it's the same one as you linked, because there was apparently an older version which was a bit thicker, and mine is the newer thinner version which lets the console close normally.

neat, sadly i already ordered them and still waiting for them to arrive.

i believe most of those cover grips will raise the left side up abit, even going into sleep mode would make me feel bad for keeping the analog grip on ..
oh well, i would like to know what type of adhesive bumpers would work perfectly with any type of analog grips?

i would like to order some bumpers.. mm

i would love to do that too, i guess i would have to order it though.

but what of bumpers, i want to buy some bumper pads to protect my systems ,because i want to keep the circle pad grips on permanent, would not want to keep taking them off..

so what are some good cheap bumpers?

dude this is a permanent solution, i put a littttlee bit of super glue on the bottom, it has a square form and the 3ds has the same one ther you will see when taking the c stick out, it will never come lose :P

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

to be a little more specifik, you don't need to open your 3ds, you just "tear" the c stick out like you can see on the picture, and then ther is a sqaure thinggie that usually stops the c stick from moving or rotating and the psp-1000 stick has the same counter part and it even holds without glue perfect, but to make it wobble less i put super glue on and it feels just gorgeous
edit: i just looked in my n3ds xl from the side when it's closed and the psp-1000 nub is exacly just as heigh as the original a b x y button's and ther is a 2mm gap to the screen, perfectly safe, and i have this mod since 2 months and not a single scratch :)

They shouldn't damage the screen, I don't think the screen overlaps the circle pad, worst case they might lightly scratch the plastic near the left speaker, if you are worried about that though, best use the included holder or get bumpers as mentioned. I guess there is a reason they included a holder for it.

supposedly yes, you are supposed to take them off after each game cycle.

but i would be too damn lazy to do that, plus i am clumsy i might even rip my Circle pad off by taking it off too much.

i think i will just keep it on, i have no idea how some reported cracks in their screens using those circle pad grips :/
maybe they pressed their system down to hard or something..

I don't recommend ripping out the c-stick and replacing it with a psp nub. I tried it and I actually didn't like it. Also if you do it the quick way without opening up the 3ds, you're stuck that way.
If you want to try it, opening it up is actually really easy and you do NOT have to remove the motherboard. Just three screws that hold the c-stick in place.

i know how it works i have hard modded my n3ds :P and it was really easy and the only thing you can dislike about the psp nub is the way it wobble's which i solved with glue you could probally use heat glue too to make it removeable in the future but i loved it and i could still return the real c stick,
if you want to open and remove the c stick here is a layout of my new 3ds with the c stick marked:

I've hardmodded my 3ds as well. You don't touch the c-stick pad when doing the hardmod. I'm just letting the OP know that there is a way to try what you have suggested without damaging the rubber c-stick cover.

Also, I'd like to add that the shoulder buttons are connected to the motherboard with two pads that you can just pop off with something flat.
