Hi! :) I have an old 3ds, with firmware 1.7. Just like what the title says, is there any possible way? I also don't own another hacked 3ds or DS, so that's out. Thanx in advanced guys :)

Do you have a friend with a 3DS on 10.6 or lower? That's as good as a Powersaves.

It doesn't even need to be a friend! It can just be a nice stranger!

you're unlikely going to find those in japan, since they like to be up to date. but if you did, you'd have to install homebrew channel on their console using the starterpack from smealum.github.io/3ds/ then use browserhax to enter homebrew channel, then use the oothax installer (should be in starter kit) to install oothax to your game.

careful, since 3ds isnt region free, you need oot game from your consoles region for this to work,

@Quantumcat. if i manage to find someone with a 10.5 firmware, how can i do that powersave thingy?
What Clyde said - get homebrew running on the other console (get the starter kit and use Browserhax to get into it) then one of the homebrew apps included in the starter kit is OoTHax setup. You can use that to get the exploited save onto your copy of OoT.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
