R4i Gold (from r4ids.cn) and Supercard DSTwo, are basically the only good flashcards. The R4i Gold officially supports Wood R4 and the DSTwo has GBA/SNES emulation
And with AuReiNAND, you no longer need to patch your system files to run them.

Is it okay for using with an XL console?

I have the exact same setup that you have:
Nintendo New 3DS XL Aureinand 10.7.0-32 U + A9LH

And yes, it works perfect on the New 3DS XL. It works perfect on A9LH, and it worked perfect before that on my EmuNAND as well.

I meant in terms of fitting into the game slot of an N3DS XL console, but I guess that's not an issue. Thanks everyone for the help.

I didn't even know there were flash cards that couldn't fit into any model of a N3DS. I can't even understand how a DS flashcard of any type would be able to fit into a DS but not a model of the 3DS.

Can I get help on which flash cart to purchase if I post my console details? I searched various websites and read a few threads, but I'm confused by all of the technical details of the carts. Some say "SDHC", "Dual-Core", "RTS", "Silver", "Gold". Some are $9.99, and some cost up to $16.00. Also, I read somewhere that DS flashcarts have trouble fitting into the slot of an XL console. I really just want to play DS games without any trouble.

For DS mode, the prime choice is the Supercard DStwo. If anything, the DStwo plus, which was supposed to have GW emulation for 3DS, might be even better, due to the improved hardware in the flash cart.

For the 3DS stuff specifically, the Gateway 3DS is arguably the best choice, in part because of the three plus years of consistent support for the system. But you pretty much need a 'vulnerable' 2/3DS system to work with.

If you want something cheap and something that can work even without a CFW (or a patched TWL_FIRM), my vote goes towards the R4i 3DS RTS by r4i-sdhc.com. It just works. You can even run YSMenu if you so choose.

How can you say that? DSTwo will always be the best card. Maybe not the best value for money but definitely the best card :-p

It's really subjective; my only use for my DSTwo anymore is for playing DS games. I have no use for the extra cpu power, yet that thing drains the battery at all times from just being inserted.
I want a flashcard which I can keep inserted in the 3DS at all times without killing the battery or without making things overheat... that way I never have to switch anything in or out. Just have access to DS and 3DS games any time.

(That, and imo, DSTwo has poor build quality :/ still a lot better than the AK2 though... but nothing will ever beat the CycloDS in terms of build quality.)

Anyone know how long shipping to the U.S. takes from nds-card.com?

Edit: found out. You will receive your order within 10 to 50 days. Damn, that's a long time.

Yeah that's usually the time it takes because it dispatches from Hong Kong. You can pay a lot for fast shipping though, if you really want it.

You can get an ACE3DS Plus for around $9 delivered and AFAIK it should do the job as well as any other as long as you are running CFW.

I personally wouldn't recommend a DStwo if you're going to be using it on a 3DS, especially if you plan on using Streetpass. I recently switched to a random R4 SDHC clone that I had laying around (now that even non-DSi carts are compatible with the 3DS), and it made me realize how absolutely horrid the DStwo's CPU is, in terms of battery drain.

With the DStwo, I'm lucky if my 3DS is alive by the time I get home (even if it's doing nothing but sitting in the cartridge slot), but with the R4, it can last several days in sleep mode. IMO, the extra CPU power isn't even worth it when you could just run RetroArch or VC for your emulation needs.

As for which one you should pick: I'm not sure if it matters at this point. As long as it'll run the latest Wood R4 or YSmenu, it should be fine. But I think your best bet would be the R4i Gold labelled with the website 'r4ids.cn' (the only one officially supported by Wood R4).

....I have a N3DS XL lol sorry Neither the XL or the N3DS either one have an issue.

Thats odd.. when I tried putting it in mine it wouldn't click in place. I mean it goes into the slot just won't stay. I'll try again in a few min. I'm just very cautious with my N3DSXL because it's the LoZ Majoras Mask limited edition and it sits on firm 9.2 (I use it for imports and modding so if I mess it up in anyway I'm screwed) I think of it as a golden unit quite like my psvita on firm 3.18. it's probably just how I'm inserting it.

edit: went in perfect I guess before I wasn't pushing it in far enough it does sit lower than 3ds carts so needs more of a push to set it inplace.

There seems to be a long cart eject tab in both of my N3DS's, like it gets stuck but if i wiggle the dstwo around alittle it clicks past it.

I've decided on going with R4isdhc GOLD Pro 2016

Bad idea. It is absolutely worth the extra few bucks for the R4i Gold RTS card (http://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=149). The R4isdhc Gold cards have a shitty OS (you can hack it to use YSMenu) and a time bomb (artificial expiration in an attempt to get you to rebuy the card) in their official firmware. The also don't play a lot of DS games without minor graphical glitching (I can personally attest to this).
