I have googled for this problem and saw countless answers that conflict with each other.

ISSUE: Loading the SJNE41.wbfs from HD with USB Loader GX, The game just sits at "Reading Disc". I set the ios to 250 (like all the other Just Dance games". Can anyone make a walkthrough for this. Apparently, it is a common issue and I am just behind in finding the correct solution.

Thanks,
ISO-Man

It needs IOS57 so you if your cIOS in slot 250 is based on it then it should work.

All I have is the basic ios changes when I first did my Wii Soft-Mod. It has been ages since I have done that. Is it remapping or ios patching? I think I can do it with a basic walkthrough.

Thanks,

For installing IOS250[57]
On the Wii run the installer found here Previously linked by Cyan http://www.mediafire.com/?5ggh53tj9hhp1tr select slot250, d2x v8, base 57, version 21008. install, exit, done.

This is the IOS needed for games that use peripherals (Just Dance 2014 and newer and others). Make sure to set to IOS 250 in the USBLoaderGX menu for the game.

On the other hand, if you could supply a syscheck we could see what you have installed.

I have Just Dance working 2015 and below.... It's near my bedtime, I will look on how to do a syscheck tomorrow unless you want to tell me :) I will post results in case anyone sees anything else that may need changed/updated.

Thanks,

You need cIOS224[57]-v5.1R. Installing this to slot 224 and setting USB Loader GX to load the game using this IOS fixes Just Dance games' black screen issue. If you don't have it fixed tell me I'll help you out with download link.

Was this problem solved because I'm having this same issue with the "Reading Disc" prompt. I have all cIOS d2x v8 wads which works great with all of my games except the Just Dance games. Is it really necessary to install the cIOS d2x v10 beta wads and if so, why? Why doesn't d2x v8 work with Just Dance.

I offline download my wads btw.

I've also tried loading the games with cIOS 250. No use. Help please?

it has nothing to do with "v10 beta" nor "v8" nor "250"
like said above, you need a custom IOS based on IOS57.

if you installed a "base57" in your slot 250, then select 250 for that game in your loader's setting.
if you installed a "base57" in your slot 243, then select 243,
etc.

to know which base you have in which slot, you can run syscheck. it will generate a report with all the cIOS information it can get.

Oh okay. I get it. So I just need an IOS that's based on IOS57. I will post a syscheck later today to see what I have installed. I'm still a little confused though. Where can I get this IOS57 from? And do I need d2x installer or can I just manually install it like I've been doing?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Can I get this IOS57 from NUS Downloader?

EDIT: Okay, I followed the directions WiiBrew gave me and added IOS56-64-v5661.wad and IOS57-64-v5918.wad to my WAD folder. I installed d2x v10 beta53 with base 56 to slot 249 and d2xv10 beta53 with base 57 to slot 250. They both successfully installed. I went to USB Loader and defaulted the game settings of Just Dance 2015. I set the IOS loader to 250, but still no luck! It still shows "Reading Disc" at start. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Do these two wad files need to be in the root of the SD card or in the WAD folder?

Here's my syscheck:

Those should be right. In the settings for the particular game there should be an option to use a different IOS. If you've got it set to 250 and it's still not working it could be a bad rip.

It shouldn't be a bad rip though because I loaded it just fine with the Dolphin Emulator on my pc. I even tried a Just Dance 2016 iso and a Just Dance 2016 wbfs, and they both loaded just fine as well with the emulator.

Is there something you think I did wrong during the installation process because I have no idea. My other games still work just fine; it's just Just Dance.

Should I add the IOS 56 and 57 wads to the root of the SD card or keep them in the WAD folder because in the cIOS installation guide WiiBrew made, it seems as if they put the two in the root of the SD card. I posted a screenshot.

EDIT: Do you think it might be that my USBLoader is outdated? Even if it was, the Update option in USB Loader GX says that there are no updates. Or do you think I need to split the iso when transferring it to my USB? If so, how can I split it?

You only need the IOS56/57 wads to run the d2x installer in offline mode so if you've gotten that done it's fine to get rid of them.

You can check the version of USB Loader GX by going into the settings menu and looking at the credits page. The version and revision are in the corner. r1260 is the latest one. If it says "3.0c" you have the channel version and it's not supported anymore.

You do need to split WBFS files if the game is larger than 4GB. Wii Backup Manager has a setting to do it automatically.

Alright, that makes sense. I'll check what USB loader version I have. I just have one question. You said that if I have 3.0c, that means I have the channel version and that it's not supported anymore. What specifically is "it" that's not supported? Not supported for what?

not supported as not updated anymore.
new releases are available, but not as full channel, only as homebrew launched from the homebrew channel or a channel forwarder.

I don't think new releases have any fix for that game, but you can try.
latest release is in my signature, launch if from the homebrew channel.

Hmm okay. Is there any other suggestions on what I should do because the game is still not working. And ever since I updated to d2x v10 beta53, one of my games (We Cheer) is stuck at "Loading" when trying to play a song. I believe it may be the iso, so I'll try and rip it again, but if that doesn't work, I'm going to install d2x v8 back into slots 249 and 250.

you have 2 other IOS slot with a base 57 you can try :
IOS224[57] (rev 65535 Info: hermesrodries-v6): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0
IOS225[57] (rev 21010 Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug NAND Access USB 2.0

225 is d2x v10 (like your slot 250, but it could be your issue using beta53 instead of beta52)
224 is an old cIOS, but lot of users prefer using them for musical games. try it !

Alright I'll try that later. Thank you. :) The hermesrodries-v6 won't affect it, will it?

Btw, you don't think it would have anything to do with my flash drive right? Because most of the games on there shows the title screen on the USB Loader, then some of them don't (which are the ones that don't load). Just Dance is the only game that shows the title screen, but won't load.

My flash drive is formatted to WBFS and I transfer my iso/wbfs files to my flash drive. A lot of people say that formatting it to FAT32 is the best way to go, but now that I have it at WBFS format, I'm afraid to format and lose all my games. And I'm not able to create a "wbfs" folder. Maybe this is part of why some of my games aren't loading such as Super Smash Bros Brawl and Disney Epic Mickey. Any suggestions?

Btw, last time I formatted my flash drive from WBFS to FAT and used it trying to play my games through USB Loader, EVERY SINGLE GAME loaded with a black screen. It took me hours to finally figure out what had happened. I used Wii Backup Manager and pulled up my drive and sure enough, it showed my games were corrupted. Yeah, sure, wbfs2fat didn't delete my games, but it corrupted them. This is why I'm so paranoid to format it again.

if you use "WBFS Manager" to transfer your game, that's probably your issue.
that program is corrupting games. that's why some of them appear without banners in the loader, or freeze/crashes at launch or later in the game.

You'd better use FAT32 and/or Wii Backup Manager.
you are afraid to lose all your games, but if most of them already doesn't work due to WBFS partition format, you'd better lose them to get clean and working one.

if you really have a lot of working games, you can use "wbfs2fat" from my signature to convert WBFS partition to FAT32, but that will NOT fix your already bad games. you will have to re-dump them.

wii backup manager can verify your games one by one, so you can know which are good and which are bad and can be deleted.
