Homebrew Very quick question about Title.db in NAND!

Hey,

I'm about to install a legit .cia on my new n3dsxl device (firmware 10.3)
using nasa via browserhax.
But the console hasn't actually installed anything yet. The eshop has never been opened,
and I was wondering if this could cause problems somehow, since nasa will write information to Title.db in NAND.
Perhaps eshop prepares that file or something? Idk

Sorry if this is a question with an obvious answer, I'm kind of new to this

I'm pretty sure it will cause issues. I've seen people do things like just make a fake one or they just download a demo to fix it.

I could of course download something silly on the eshop, but I don't actually have access to that since i am on old firmware ;/

I think there are two title.db, one on nand and other on your sd card.
Each one stores the cias installed on that place (system cias, for example, in nand's title.db and games etc in sd's title.db)

Ah, this is new information to me.
Anyway, I still need some way to access eshop to "prepare" them so to speak..

That's why we need to repair the empty title.db after installing CFW

create 2 empty files named title.db and import.db in the "Nintendo 3DS/randomstuff/randomstuff/dbs" folder, go to data management in settings, 3DS Software, and it should cry about repairing your title.db, then repair it.
If the above files exist, then you should be able to install stuff to SD

Ah, okay I'll go do this then.
But, you mentioned CFW? I don't currently have CFW installed, didn't downgrade yet. Can I still do the above then?

Woah wait... There already IS a title.db and an import.db here...?

I only bought the console a week ago.
I may have tried launching the eshop or something but I've been on 10.3 the whole time, so I couldn't have downloaded anything there.
My homebrew MAINLY consists of emulators, and I have tried launching FBI 3 times before giving up.

Perhaps MicroSD management or FtBrony could have created them?

Oh wait!
When I booted the console for the first time it had "Tomodachi Life Welcome Edition!" preinstalled!
I have the Hyrule Edtion New XL, which as far as I know SHOULDN'T have any pre-installed games but oh well

So I've heard from some guides, but actually the last version of FBI (at least the cia) can autocreate them if needed!

Perhaps so, but I have only tried to boot FBI. It didn't actually send me to the file browser, it just stopped loading midway...
