OOT3DHAX FOR *HAX 2.5
hooray

Well everyone, yesterday yellows8 and smealum officially released some support for OoT3DHax with *hax 2.5, so I figure that now is a better time than ever to get a tutorial done.
This time around, there are quite a bit of ways that you can install the hax, so pick your method and get moving!

METHOD 1: SECONDARY HAX
This method is the traditional, original method, which requires another entrypoint for installation.

PLEASE NOTE: Even if you had an old version of OoT3DHax using ninjhax 2.1, you'll still need to follow ALL of the steps!

1.) Download the 'homebrew starter kit', which now includes the exploit installer.
2.) Drag the contents of the .ZIP file directly to the SD card
4.) Follow the steps to get Ironhax/Ninjhax/Menuhax/Rumblehax/WHATEVERhax working and back up your OoT3D saves. (You can use this if you'd like.)
5.) Go ahead and launch OoT3D, and as the game is booting, hold A, B, X, and Y. This will bring up a prompt asking if you want to wipe the save files. Go through with it, and wipe all save data. (Remember, this can be restored later if you want.)
6.) Exit out of OoT3D, and load your preferred exploit again. This time, run the OoT3DHax installer.
6 1/2.) Follow all of the onscreen instructions. Mostly everything should automatically detected, so just give all of the options a quick glance before progressing.
7.) If all goes well, the payload should successfully install.
8.) Restart the system and boot up OoT3D again. There should now be a savefile named 'Haxxxxxx**********...' which extends past the screen. Go ahead and start that one.
9.) Click any of the menu buttons, interact with anything, play the ocarina... basically do any action to trigger something.
10.) The Homebrew Launcher should load up, now with *hax 2.5! :D

METHOD 2: POWERSAVES
Here's a method using Datel's 3DS Powersave Device, which basically directly installs the save.

For the sake of not repeating things, check out Ignisflame's thread here. It pretty much covers all that you need for this method.

METHOD 3: DS FLASHING
Probably the most inconvenient way, this is still a method of getting them good old hax into OoT3D. Thank zoogie for writing up this tutorial!

Aaaaaand there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! Once OoT3DHax is installed, go on and do a little happy dance! You now have a backup entrypoint.
Happy homebrewing! :)

Old Tutorial:
Hello all! So, after having a bit of trouble with getting this to work, I decided that I'd make a tutorial on how to use this for general convenience.

PLEASE NOTE: This is so far confirmed to work with 9.2 EU (only on a physical copy), 9.9 all regions, and 10.0 in all regions. I haven't seen much of any one else test this on other firmwares, so if you could, that'd be super cool. Oh, and also, I didn't create this exploit. I'm merely teaching you how to install it.

1.) Download the 'oot3dhax_installer'
2.) Drag the '3ds' folder directly to the root of your SD card to go alongside your other homebrew.
3.) Download any homebrew in a .3DSX format and place it in the installer's app folder. (it's called 'ootsdhax_installer') The file can be named anything (besides 'boot'), but for convenience, I just named it 'payload.3dsx'.
4.) Follow the steps to get TubeHax/IronHax working and back up your OoT3D saves. (You can use this.)
5.) Go ahead and launch OoT3D, and as the game is booting, hold A, B, X, and Y. This will ask you if you want to wipe the save files. Go through with it, and wipe all save data. (Remember, this can be restored later if you want.)
6.) Exit out of OoT3D, and load TubeHax/IronHax again. This time, run the OoT3DHax installer and follow all of the instructions.
7.) If all goes well, the payload should successfully install.
8.) Boot up OoT3D again. There should now be a savefile named 'idleaway**********...' which extends past the screen. Go ahead and start that one.
9.) Click any of the menu buttons, interact with anything, play the ocarina... basically do any action to trigger something.
10.) Your .3DSX should now load!

Happy homebrewing! :D

Hi ! I am a new user to this kind of stuff. I'm planning to head out to get OOT to do this exploit. But I need some help doing so. How do I "load a preferred exploit" and run "OoT3DHax Installer"?

If i already have a o3ds with homebrew channel, can i put the OoT cartridge into my 3ds, run OoT3DHax, and then put it into my friends o3ds to get him into the homebrew channel? (He has 10.6 so i imagine he can't get into it with browserhax etc)

yea you can, when you get to the part where you select the fw be sure to select Old 10.6.0-31 or it will just return to homemenu with an error on your friends o3ds.

The installer downloads and installs the specific save for whatever fw you choose in the installer.

Hello.
I have a second 2DS on 9.2 and i'm using a gateway card. Is there any way to get the OoT3d hax onto my Zelda cartridge using gateway? (For downgrading my 3DS)

This hack works fine for me, but I can't start Ocarina of Time 3D with it in place; it crashes every time I try to start a new save. Do I have to choose between running homebrew or running the game? Is there any way I can have both?

Yeah. It runs one or the other. That's why you're told to wipe the game before injecting the save. Sorry.

Well, thanks for letting me know at any rate. I thought that was only an issue with the digital version for some reason...

Currently I'm on 10.7 and I'm trying to get this OoT3DHax to work with the NDS NSavemanager.
It all works up until the part where I start OoT, it says the save file is corrupted and it's deleting it.

Am I doing something wrong?

I'm also not sure about which file I need from oot3dhax_rawsaveimages_haxpayloads_03-01-16, I justed picked N3DS_E_24576_9221.sav.
Is this correct or should I pick an other one?

EDIT: I managed to fix it. :3
I had to pick cardids_c2fe009000000000/eur/POST5_E_24576_9221.sav

In which version is your friend's 3ds?
Did you install oothax using your 3ds or something?

Thanks to this this thread, I've saved 20 bucks by using the DS Flashing method instead of Powersaves. The whole process is a breeze, just one note: the nub of the OoT cartridge has to be filed completely, and the surface of the cartridge where it used to be needs to be completely flat, otherwise it may require some force to fit it into DS cartridge slot and then, removing it is a pain. I've made a duct tape "ribbon" so that I easily pull it out. Other than that, its super easy and the cheapest way to get OoThax if you don't have access to already hacked 3DS.

Even if you don't have a DS flashcart, you can buy original R4 for DS for 7 bucks, borrow a DS from someone and after installing OoThax and a Custom Firmware on your 3DS, you can use the same flashcart with Apache Thunder's launcher to play DS games on your 3DS - 7 bucks well spent :)

Does anyone have a working link to DS save manager v0.2? That link isn't working and every google link i've searched for only links to that one page.

Edit: Nevermind i found it. Got the thing to working. Now to keep reading to get that CFW on. (Got OoThax on my 3ds card via the DS flashing method)

You can use it, but you need a way to run homebrew to install the hax into your game, powersaves or a NDS with a flashcard.

Ahh, with the OP referring to SD I just assumed it was the MicroSD that goes in to the Wii, i'm take it the powersaves takes the SD?

If you are going to use powersaves, you only need to put smea's starter pack on your 3ds's SD (or microSD if you have a new 3ds).
Then, inject the modified save (actually, the hax) into your Ocarina of Time.
(If you're on 10.7, you will probably need the files with the highest number)

There will be many files with numbers. These numbers represents the version of your fw, so to know what files you have to use, you can use this. Just put the corresponding version and press the otherapp button.
