Quick question. I got a 8gb card and the emunand backed up via the tool. I won't get a 16gb card for a while but I do have a 4gb available. Thing is my 8gb has games in it installed and the folder directory is all numbers it's not game.cia and just delete it. So how can I clone my 8gb to my 4gb and not copying any games over? Thanks.
Do you want to keep all of the games on the 4GB card? If so, make a backup of your SD card, then boot emuNAND on your 3DS. Go to system settings > data management > 3DS > software and delete the games from there. After that, make another backup of your SD card. Restore the original backup to your 8GB card, and restore the SD card backup with the games deleted to the 4GB card. You'll need to inject your emuNAND backup to the 4GB card as well.

I got Emunand9Tool and Decrypt9 set as y and x.bin for aureinand, but it just turns off when I hold them and the shoulder buttons. What am I missing? Is it because I'm using updated sysnand on 10.7 a9lh? The .3dsx wouldn't load either but I assumed a9lh would work better, no dice.

Also, how would I go about updating a9lh when updates come out for it, and is it worth it to have a 9.2 emunand on there?

edit: I swapped out the arm9loaderhax.bin from aurei with the original, and emunand9 and decrypt9 load fine.

whats the best card for this these days, still an r4? i see theres an r4igold now, is that better? some other card entirely?

I got the emunand extracted via the tool and I copy and pasted the whole sd card into my desktop. When I pop my 4gb into the pc do I gotta do anything outside the emunand tool or do I just use the tool to inject my backed up emunand?

Use this guide (link) and go below to section "How to move Games, Saves, Themes, and Emunand to a new SD card".

When I use multiNAND tool it gives me some error while trying to inject emuNAND into new SD card then it does work. But I need to format unused space or else it won't allow me to copy old folders. I tried the other way with sd disk image and it gave me error while trying to enlarge the partition. What should I do now?

You'll need to format emuNAND on the new SD card, then inject your emuNAND backup to it via EmuNAND Tool.

How do I do that? The formating
The same way you formatted emuNAND initially. Either by the Gateway launcher, Multi EmuNAND Creator or EmuNAND9 Tool.

Does anybody know if there is any harm in doing a system transfer with HomeBrew Channel installed or FBI injected into H&S?
Should be fine. I did a (emuNAND to emuNAND) transfer from O3DS to my N3DS when Gateway support was first released for the N3DS. I had SaveDataFiler, BigBlueMenu among other things installed on my O3DS when I did the transfer. I'd recommend backing up your saves before doing the transfer though. I can't remember if they were transferred or not.

Which saves would I be backing up? Just for anything installed, correct? If I have never installed a CIA, or from the eShop, then the saves reside on their carts?

I have a old 3ds and a new 3ds which I installed a9lh on both. On my old 3ds I have a Pokemon X which is a legit download I played the game for years have a lot of time on it.

I was wondering if this would work, I could use the one of the save manger homebrew get my save file from Pokemon X on my old 3DS, then load it on my new 3ds and have everything work like the online and stuff. Or are saves tied to the console?

I'm setting up MSET with a R4i GOLD 3DS flashcard. Do i need to run the flashcard from regular NAND or RXMode SysNAND ?

Yes, just any games you've installed via eShop or cia. Any games on carts are safe.

You can use either SaveDataFiler or svdt to extract your save and import it to the N3DS. Saves are tied to consoles, but they can be extracted in an unencrypted format, which allows you to move them between consoles.

Regular sysNAND will work fine. I don't believe the flashcart will boot while in rxTools.

Got another question!

I know that playing different region games online can get you banned but what about region free games?

For example: Bravely Second has a region free version going around. Will it be safe to do the online moon building stuff or not?
And DLC also won't work with any region free versions, right?

Well when I got this sd card it was already configured to run rxtools. So all I did was backup emunand inside rxtools then extracted it out using the emunand tool and now I got this new sd card and I got no idea what to do with jt.
