all these threads and posts are silly, specially the ones demanding the hack because they bought a wiiu specifically for it, who the heck does that?
Me for example, buying homebrew-enabled consoles as soon as it is around that is, but the begging indeed is stupid.all these threads and posts are silly, specially the ones demanding the hack because they bought a wiiu specifically for it, who the heck does that?
What is silly, is that people actually bought a Wii U specifically for it, yet updated to 5.5, because at most, they come with 5.4 on them. That means they updated knowing full well that they destroyed their chance at whatever they wanted. When I bought mine, it was mainly for my kids, and it had 5.4 on it. I searched to see if the Wii U had been hacked, before I did any update. I found out that it was, but only for 5.3.2 and below, and only a userland for 5.4, at that time, there was no 5.4 kernel exploit. So then Hykem says he has an IOSU exploit that he IS going to release, and that it worked up to 5.5. Like I said, there was no 5.4 kernel exploit yet, so being the trusting idiot I was, I updated to 5.5 so my kids could get their free Mario Kart 8 DLC that came with the purchase of the console, since the IOSU was going to be released and everything would be open. Then not long after, 5.4 gets a kernel exploit, and not long after that, 5.5.1 comes out and 5.5 people get the userland exploit. So I have not updated since, and waited and waited for the magical IOSU exploit, all the time messing around learning about the system for fun to program on it using the userland exploit. I didn't even care about pirating any games, because I have a thing called money and will buy games. I also didn't even worry too much about getting too deep into the SDK or trying to reverse the kernel, because Hykem was doing it, so why bother, right? Well anyway, fast-forward to now, and there is no IOSU exploit released, Hykem disappeared, and I am sitting here disappointed in myself for believing some person on the internet, and kicking myself in the ass for updating from 5.4 to 5.5, based on a promise of good things coming for 5.5 users. It is just not financially smart for me to go out and buy another Wii U, just to write homebrew for it. This is more of a hobby of mine for years, to play around on a new system and program for it. However, all the people that DID buy the Wii U, strictly to pirate games, are total morons for updating their systems. If I was buying a Wii U to play backups, already knowing not to update and that I had to stay on the 5.4 or below kernel that comes on ALL Wii Us that you can buy in the store, I would be a total moron if I had updated. Luckily I am just a half-witted dumby for trying to play around and program on the Wii U, and can't fully do it, because I believed a liar. The important part is that at least my kids are happy, and frankly, that's all that matters to me.all these threads and posts are silly, specially the ones demanding the hack because they bought a wiiu specifically for it, who the heck does that?
While most of these features are very nice, and when/if they come out I'll probably use them (except for pal/ntsc switching), Id assume most people bought it as a game console, I guess since he got it on black Friday it's possible he wasn't into the wii u games and just got it because there was a good deal.Well, no. There's much more
Emulators (since the Wii U's power, emulators can be much more accurate).
PAL/NTSC switching. Useful for my EUR Wii U on my TV... Also useful for more capture card support.
Showing 3DS screens to TV and GamePad wirelessly. (Similar of what you do to connect HDMI to TV).
VC Games injections.
A Media Player that allows you to play videos on the Wii U from USB or SD card, view pictures,

I'd say... No we barely know what the NX is also you're gonna have to wait a whole lot longer for home brew on NXhmm no iosu exploit,... Nintendo NX getting closer... makes me wonder if I should be looking to sell my wii u?

Why not an axe?Why a spoon, cousin?
Indeed theres nothing like buying your games, im in 5.5.1 and i dont regret a single bit, Games like Smash and Splatoon are a blast playing online the only shame here is that i will miss all those possible emulators that could have been in the Wii U or at least all of that VC injections that started to show up (Like pokemon Stadium 2 *.*). Theres still a chance, i still have faith in many devs here(@Marionumber1 , @Mathew_Wi ,@Hykem etc) that spend their time just to bring us some homebrew and more usability to our consoles, I had always been a silent user here in GBAtemp and created an account not long time ago, but i just wanna say Thanks to all these dedicated and skillful people, all their work its much appreciated ! (:bought twilight princess today and added it to my big blue shelf of wii u goodness, feels good man. If you are on 5.5 give up, update all your games and buy some more, its done.
