"oh no i can't pirate stuff, i guess this was a waste"Yeah I bought my WiiU last black friday, and kinda stinks with no exploit and already a new console coming out. >_< I feel so late to the party.
There's more than just pirating. Don't assume."oh no i can't pirate stuff, i guess this was a waste"

The PS4 would probably get more accessible Linux/CFW before we could get IOSUWell, no. There's much more.
Emulators (since the Wii U's power, emulators can be much more accurate).
PAL/NTSC switching. Useful for my EUR Wii U on my TV... Also useful for more capture card support.
Showing 3DS screens to TV and GamePad wirelessly. (Similar of what you do to connect HDMI to TV).
VC Games injections.
A Media Player that allows you to play videos on the Wii U from USB or SD card, view pictures, etc.
So I'll be like: ^"Oh no, I can't do that stuff, I guess Hykem is in another castle?"
Also never forget custom content for dem games, project m pretty much saved our childhood gaming sessions back in the brawldays, looking at brawl-modding in general that game became the new M.U.G.E.N. so i feel like this deserves to be mentioned."oh no i can't pirate stuff, i guess this was a waste"
In the PS4 scene, users and devs dont hate each other, there was bound to be quicker progress. Just look at the insightful kind of constructive criticism that guy above made and it starts to explain itself xDThe PS4 would probably get more accessible Linux before we could get IOSU
But Hykem did make the mistake of promising a release date before he made any progress, then act surprised when people starts complaining when he missed the set deadline. Also never forget custom content for dem games, project m pretty much saved our childhood gaming sessions back in the brawldays, looking at brawl-modding in general that game became the new M.U.G.E.N. so i feel like this deserves to be mentioned.

I know, how real the whole thing was doesnt matter as much as the way he handled stuff. I am to be honest not in the slightest bit surprised of the outcome, in fact i was foreseeing this exact result the first time he delayed the thing from the way he did it and was treated like one of those crazy people who went into a rush because of the maya Callender xD . Just still whish that this doesnt mark the death of modding U games since hacks are relatively inaccessible to the public as of now. At least compared with the PSP, Wii and X360 and how much love they got in the end, not to mention the 3ds. I as a pirate myself find the rather scarce library the U delivers not worth the download and the saved money, no matter how you put my intentions, but i was really hoping to see majorhack-patches for wud or at least something like riivolution. The few Goldies the U has would be well worth the effort. But Hykem did make the mistake of promising a release date before he made any progress, then act surprised when people starts complaining when he missed the set deadline.
Lesson of the month: You don't make promises in the public unless you're 101% sure you can meet them
It's the unpredictable factors of debugging and obfuscation. You dont want your thing to brick a system nor to be killed of in an instant.Have to say I kind of agree with Jackal there. As a developer, you don't make promises of deadlines unless you're 100% certain you can reach them, and you certainly don't continue to make promises of deadlines after missing one. "When it's done" may be a joke to some but it's the reality of the fact nobody knows how long this stuff is *really* going to take.
I still remember asking for ETAs is a big no-no in the Cyanogenmod community. They never know how long it takes to port a rom to another device due to unforeseen issues (driver compatibility etc.)Have to say I kind of agree with Jackal there.
