Anywhere you can get Oot and Powersaves will be fine. Gamestop is just a suggestion. Will a Walmart or EB Games work?
Any copy of OOT3DS will work, including the new Nintendo Selects version which costs 20 dollars. Will a Walmart or EB Games work?
Well.. I use my New 3ds often, so it has the new firmware. And since I didn't know at the time how to get past the notification on updating my 3ds, it got updated too. I gave myself the biggest face palm ever -_-Are you concerned about bricking it? Everything is very safe right now, and when you get everything set up, you'll be able to play games normally.
On your o3ds you can get it working for about 40 dollars using OOT3DS and a powersaves. I expect browserhax may work eventually, because it uses webkit which is extremely buggy, but that's just speculation.

You can downgrade on 10.7.Well.. I use my New 3ds often, so it has the new firmware. And since I didn't know at the time how to get past the notification on updating my 3ds, it got updated too. I gave myself the biggest face palm ever -_-

I don't have the game... Plus I'm kind of broke at the moment, so I can't really do much on the money side. I'm just gonna hope that the browserhax starts up again. The newest firmware is fully exploitable using oot3dshax on the n3ds.
EDIT: Ninja'd again
If you have a friend with Homebrew and oot3d, you can borrow their copy and have them install the payload.I don't have the game... Plus I'm kind of broke at the moment, so I can't really do much on the money side. I'm just gonna hope that the browserhax starts up again.
I'm still really new to the homebrew scene. What's a payload? Ik, I'm a noob. And yeah, I guess I'll wait. Thanks for the help. I swear if another "stability update" comes...If you have a friend with Homebrew and oot3d, you can borrow their copy and have them install the payload.
If you don't and don't want to pay for oot3ds/powersaves, then your only real option is to wait for browserhax.
Just don't update if another update comes out. Unfortunately, if you're on 10.7, you may already be pwned as you won't be able to use the browser after a new update comes out (10.7 patches browser nag avoidance).I'm still really new to the homebrew scene. Ok, thanks. So, if I try to do browserhax when 10.8 comes out, I'm going to get the nag no matter what?Just don't update if another update comes out. A payload is basically code that, when run, exploits the system and boots the homebrew launcher. You would use powersaves to install a save to oot3ds that has the payload to boot the homebrew launcher.
On the old 3ds, yes. The new 3ds can avoid the browser nag using a really hacky solution.Ok, thanks. So, if I try to do browserhax when 10.8 comes out, I'm going to get the nag no matter what?
Ok. I'm just gonna have to make sure not to get the update, and hope browserhax comes in before 10.8 does...On the old 3ds, yes. The new 3ds can avoid the browser nag using a really hacky solution.
If your o3ds is on 10.6, just use the method here to avoid the browser nag. It won't work on 10.7 once 10.8 comes out though.Ok. I'm just gonna have to make sure not to get the update, and hope browserhax comes in before 10.8 does...
Yea... I have 10.7. So, the method you sent me wont work unless browserhax works again right? Here's a post that explains how to avoid browser nag on n3ds better: https://gbatemp.net/threads/browserhax-is-still-working.400991/page-27#post-6091920

Ok. Sounds good. Now it's really just a race, kinda...Even if you were on 10.6 that method wouldn't work.
The browsernag will force you to update if you're using an older version of the browser, thus locking you out until you update. This method I posted allows you to avoid the nag, but still needs a working implementation of browserhax.
10.6 patched browserhax so it doesn't work. If yellows8 released a new version of browserhax that works on 10.6 and 10.7, you could do it on 10.7 without worrying until 10.8 comes out, at which point you'll need to update as browser nag avoidance doesn't work on 10.7. 10.8 however will likely patch the exploit that lets us downgrade the 3ds to 9.2.
So, 10.6 browserhax doesn't work even if I do the Jan 1 2000 thing?Even if you were on 10.6 that method wouldn't work.

Yeah. The exploit that we used with browserhax (spider28hax) was patchedSo, 10.6 browserhax doesn't work even if I do the Jan 1 2000 thing?

Yeah, the SafeSysUpdater. (Even tho, I always had fear to it except normal SysUpdater)
Of course.
I've heard it is now, so you should check it out.![]()
