I wanted to ask if there is a way to play ps1 games on 3.55. I heard the TN-V ps1 emulator is not perfect and some games don't work at all. I also heard that TN-X is an ps1 emulator that run perfectly but the vita has to be in 3.18 or lower. Is it still not possible for vita users on 3.55 with TN-V able to download and run TN-X?

To be honest. TN-V runs ps1 games fine.

I have never had an issue with it. (I am also on 3.55)

TN-X is far superior to TN-V for PS1 as the sound is properly handled by the Vita via the tweaks sony made to the emulator to handle PS1 sound. All games have perfect (as in 100%) reproduction of the sound when compared to PS1 on the PSP. TN-V has a custom software solution that can cause audio issues and slowdown depending on which PS1 game is played.

https://twitter.com/theflow0 is working on one, just waiting for a 3.57 PSP kernel exploit to make it work with all firmwares before releasing.
I hope a 3.50 (or anything above 3.36 (themes came out this version, I think) kernel exploit comes out so we can retain rejuvenate along with TN-V and TN-X. For now, I will still be on 3.18 with TN-V, TN-X, rejuvenate, and Package Manager (limited use, but still a plus)

Even if it does, it'd still probably be recommended to not update any further than 3.36. 3.50 introducted the /PSP/GAME write block, which meant that the only way to add new EBOOTs is to use SMOKE's PSP-Installer, which involves having to back up and restore the entire PSP library on your memory card.

If you have rejuvenate. You can use vitashell to write in psp/game
And add new eboots. this work in any fw with rejuvenate. I use this trick to add psx games for tn v.
My fw is 3.51

So the ps1 loader still only works with 3.18 and lower? No confirmation with 3.55?

There is confirmation of a newer PS1 loader working with 3.57, but it will not be released until a kernel exploit is released for 3.57. for now, the current loader supports 3.18 and lower.

That a huge trade off, if the ps1 loader is released for 3.57 since you'll have to updated, if not already, and you will lose your ability to play psp game backups. I'm on 3.55, but considering this already work on 3.18/20, probably will nab another psp vita sometime later on.

You don´t need to update to 3.57. If the PS1 loader runs on 3.57 you can use it in 3.55 too.

the last unofficial release of the ps1 loader for 3.55-3.57 was a fake. Just to clear things up:

1. TNV hack has the browser from the PSP
2. TNX ps1 loader only, is just designed to load only psx games

(TNV doesn't load any game thats not a psn dump for psx. TNX loads the eboots thats the major difference besides the performance.)
