Edit: Nevermind. I still can't seem to boot into AuReiNand on O3DS, but I'll figure that out in a little bit. Anyone have any ideas as to why AuReiNand is not booting on O3DSXL on 9.2.0-20U? I press start at the splash screen, and nothing happens. Heck, nothing happens no matter what I press.

for some reason homebrew launcher won't run from the web browser on my Sysnand 4.5 nor emunand 9.8


I'm getting this when I try to run the qr code from yellows8 website (yes. I have the starter kit extracted on the root directory of the SD card)

My setup: O3DSXL 9.2.0-20U. Cubic Ninja/MenuHax. EmuNand 9.2.0-20U, just created. Assuming they are linked. AuReiNand (latest).
Ok. I have made progress. I have an emunand now and AuReiNand boots just fine. My questions:
1. how do i know if emunand is loaded? (i'm assuming changing the background on emunand is a great way, but refer to the next question)
2. can i update emunand without unlinking sysnand?
3. Is there any reason I need to keep menuhax on emunand (while it remains on sysnand)?

I want to do the OTP key extraction with my emunand. Install A9LH. Keep Emunand on 9.2, update sysnand to latest while keeping my NNID on the sysnand. Then, I will be transferring my NNID to a N3DSXL (also will be hacked with A9LH + AuReiNand SysNand 10.6 + EmuNand 9.2). This way, I can xfer to N3DSXL and keep the unit hacked.

I want to install A9lh on my O3ds(sysNAND 9.2, rxTools emuNAND 10.6), but so far I haven't been able to do it. Other than 100% boot, and sysNAND updated what else can it do? I think it's safe(like 99%), but how safe is it? And is it worth the risk(if there's much). Since I probably have no way to get a hardmod(I suck at soldering, and there aren't that many here involved in the 3ds hacking scene :/)

Try changing the date to Jan 1st 2000 AND reinitializing browser. Then you should use the qr to use browserhax

Any of the methods you listed will work. The entry for CTRBootManager should look like this (assuming you've set up Decrypt9 for the HBL):

1. Non-legit CIAs installed on emuNAND will show the icon in sysNAND, but won't open it(unless signatures are patched in sysNAND). This is only if your NANDs are still linked, otherwise you won't even see the icon.
2. You can, but there's always a chance of your sysNAND getting updated too(I'm not pretty sure about this, but I've heard it happens sometimes)
3. Why would you need menuhax on emuNAND? You could just install HBL cia on emuNAND and use that instead

Your NANDs are linked then. If you boot from emuNAND, it should install on emuNAND. Unlink your NANDs

Browserhax only works on 9.0+
So if you use it from your emunand, it should work (or you can install the hbloader launcher cia in your emunand)

Thank you for the information. Will changing the theme in emunand (using the theme options on the 3DS) disable menuhax all together on the system? I am currently using menuhax + ctrbootmanager.

If you have linked NANDs, chances are, the theme will install on sysNAND(thereby deleting menuhax on sysNAND)

Hack as in extract the save and edit it? Yes, it is possible. Use SaveDataFiler to extract the save (check here to find the title ID of the game). After that, open up the save in PKHeX, make whatever changes you want to and save it. After that, use SaveDataFiler to import the edited save to the SD card and you're done.

Have a basic question about backing up EmuNAND.

Can I just hold L to get boot menu, choose Homebrew Launcher, choose EmuNAND9, backup EmuNAND?

I've seen some crazy posts out there that tell you to boot into SysNAND, run browserhax, run cfw, then run emunand, why do all that? Can't I just go straight into HBL and run EmuNAND9?
