I did a quick comparison of coldboot speeds between Arm9loaderhax and Menuhax:

Arm9loaderhax was able to boot into AuReiNAND in 10.56 seconds while traditional Menuhax took 25.02. That's a 58% reduction in loading time, plus 100% boot success rate whereas previously I had about a 25% chance of boot failure.

Both consoles were equipped with the exact same make and model micro SD card and while the number of installed games was slightly different, this should have a negligible impact on load times.

A9LH console:
N3DS 9.0sysNAND/10.6emuNAND
Arm9loaderhax + AuReiNAND 3.2

Menuhax console:
N3DS XL 9.2 sysNAND/10.6emuNAND
Menuhax 2 + Ctrbootmanager + ReiNAND 3.2

I'm using auReinand + arm9loaderhax on an O3ds Xl and it takes about 17 secs to boot...
Depending on the 3DS model, SD card type, and software installed, the boot times may vary.
For example, on my O3DS with 16GB Sandisk class to SD card with freshly formatted sysNAND and emuNAND (no games installed), it takes less than 7 seconds to boot up.

I'm using a 128gb Kingston with more then 60 3ds games installed on it. I supposed that was this the cause of the "slow" speed on boot.

You should have put a splash screen to your arm9loaderhax+AuReiNand setup. This way, not only people can see that everything ends faster but also everything starts faster. You don't even wait 1 second before seeing the first splash with arm9loaderhax+AuReiNand, while you have to wait 8 seconds before seeing the first splash with menuhax+whatever.

@anyone
Also, I don't see menuhax users as peasants. They don't have the best setup but peasants are MSET users :P
Or even people who use the browser to boot into CFW but do they really exist ?

Sorry, I only just finished setting up arm9loader on my devices, still haven't moved onto customising/adding splash screens. Will get to it right away. :)

Yeah, even though I've moved onto A9LH there are still useful features of menuhax that I miss. Never tried MSET because of how fiddly it seemed, I was one of those who waited for something like Menuhax to arrive before venturing beyond vanilla OFW.

AuReiNAND 3.6.1 boots to emuNAND in about 11-12 seconds on my N3DSXL with A9LH (and a 64GB mSD card) and I am loving it. Way better than what I used to get with Menuhax (around 28-30 seconds). The A9LH bootmanager loader thing seems neat since you can load different A9LH payloads at boot with a button press, but I really have no need for it since I can access Decrypt9 just fine through AuReiNAND's 9.2 sysNAND. If A9LH ever gets some sort of recovery built in (like a basic menu or something), that'll definitely be interesting.

Definitely. Being able to load up a menu and accessing recovery utilities upon boot using CTR Boot Manager was the most useful feature from Menuhax that I miss. Not sure if similar utilities exist for A9LH, though it's still relatively early and anything can happen at this point.

There are versions of BootCtr and Decrypt9 (and other things but I didn't follow everything) for arm9loaderhax.
You can have a look at this post for example https://gbatemp.net/threads/arm9loader-technical-details-and-discussion.408537/page-112#post-6111971
But since AuReiNand allows booting to sysNAND where I still have the old menuhax setup in case I need a specific tool, which doesn't happen everyday, I didn't bother that much so I can't give you more information...
(plus, I am more of a CtrBoot person than a BootCtr person due to the formatting of the configuration file, but that's just a matter of preference).

N3DS XL SS Evo+ / Cakes 136 with A9LH takes 9 seconds to boot into chosen emuNAND.
N3DS SS Pro / Cakes 136 with A9LH takes 1 second faster
It's really something.

SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: Also nice. Never really watched Fallout on Prime, but sounds like a good show. +1
