Hacking Firmware 4.2.0 running on 2DS using emuNAND

So I was screwing around and decided to put 4.2 on my 2DS to see what would happen. Turns out that it works, but there are some funny glitches.

If that's the case then maybe disabling the 3d effect in parental controls will fix it.

Just tried it on my 2DS (emuNAND). My screen isn't stretched like yours. How did you downgrade your 2DS? I used the 0.4.2 sysUpdater CIA.

Try using AuReiNAND. That's the CFW I use.

If that doesn't fix the issue, I'd say try starting all over.

It's interesting. I wonder why rxTools wouldn't work correctly. Maybe it identifies the device incorrectly.

So I'm still using rxTools. I downgraded from a 9.2 emuNAND this time and it worked, though sysUpdater crashed at the end.

You were probably just unlucky last time then. SysUpdater crashed for me at the end too

I got that same crash when downgrading my o3ds emunand from 9.2 to 4.2 as well. I think its normal.

You can't play new 3ds games on an old 3ds

yeah I know but on newest firmwares a text appear that says This Is New Nintendo 3DS Software. It Cannot Be Used on This System.
so in older firmwares like 4.2.0 what kind of text would appear?
