Hi i made this account to report my latest findings, you may recognise me from other forums where i have also made threads. I hope you all find this usefull and try to avoid it. The way they remove your emuNAND and *hax is when you send your console in for repair. They will update your console, and even remove your emunand. When i got my console back i saw my emuNAND SD card grew by .4 Gb in total size. I think the only way to avoid this is dont send your console in for repairs and instead send it to a member who can fix or it for you, or if you are feeling adventurous you can attempy it yourself. One user added you can also exclude your SD Card to preserve emuNANd, but they can still remove any vulverabilities from your consoles, making the emuNAND practically useless without a NAND backup and a hard mod.

Obviously this is true. Please change the title for this thread as it seems like a clickbaity attempt at trolling.

Edit: To be more specific, there have been completely unsubstantiated rumors and worries that Nintendo could remotely modify your unit such as deleting your emuNAND.
There's no reason to currently believe this is possible, but the title of this thread seems to be exploiting people's worries of this.

Wouldn't common sense dictate that you don't send in the SD card with your unit? Also, I'm pretty sure that all of console manufacturers (i.e. Sony and Microsoft too) will update your consoles when sent in as a "convenience". I guess on the bright side, you have a repaired console, and can still downgrade it with a hard mod.

SRSLY was there a fuccking point to make this thread? The title is super misleading, indicates that nintendo can magically delete your emunand via internet or something like that.... Yeah send your console to nintendo so they can fix it, they will obviously keep your cfw so you can get back to your piracy. Why didnt you remove your sd card before sending it?

they request you send in your SD card I'll add the info to the top. And users, I've noticed in other forums, tend not to make backups of their nand.

Sure, they could request it, but it doesn't mean you HAVE to. I doubt they'd refuse to repair it just because the SD card was missing (it's hardly essential aside from storing a bit of data, like themes; it's not like the system requires it to run). But yeah, not having backups of everything, especially before sending it in, is silly.

this is very true, sadly most don't practice this. Luckily I can hard mod, and have backups of sysNAND and emuNAND.

So you would send them a blank card only a idiot would send the one with their emunand on it.

well I dint know this would happen. Luckily I was prepaired and reversed the changes. Others may not so I thought I'd be kind enough to make a post about the dangers.

No shit. Be thankful that they repair it at all.

You've violated the EULA you agreed to, they're well within their rights to refuse to repair it and send it back to you.
That seems unlikely, but an ID ban from online services is entirely likely if they have obvious proof you are using an emunand.
The only legitimate sounding cases of permabans I've heard of are when users have directly admitted (over the phone) or provided proof to modifying their consoles to a Nintendo representative.

I'm sure the were glad to "repair" that SD card. Haha. Besides it was a minor annoyance, so they might as well fix It and remove the vulnerabilities.

i would hope the majority of people have the foresight to remove their exploits before sending a console off to be repaired on a non-existent warranty, nintendo could have easily told you to cough up for screwing up your console

.....and honestly im ashamed they didn't, most manufacturers make up reasons not to honor warranties while nintendo are doing the opposite and ignoring obvious violations of the EULA/warranty agreement

it was a hardware issue. My L

button cracked and fell off, I had it taped on and it worked but it was super annoying.

you still void your warranty by running hacks on your console, once its void they can charge you for any repairs, if you challenge their decision its then on you to pay for a independent evaluation to prove the fault was not caused by anything you did
