Sorry for any mistake I can do, my english is not good.

I got an O3DS with SysNAND 10.3, which I want to softmod and I pre-ordered the N3DS Pokémon Edition. My question is: if I softmod my O3DS can I do System Transfer from EmuNAND to the N3DS SysNAND? I want to keep my original games on the N3DS :c

I think you can do a system transfer from SysNAND to SysNAND by spoofing 10.5 on both 3DSes then running the transfer tool.

The main issue is that you would not be able to system transfer to the N3DS without spoofing on the N3DS either, which requires CFW, meaning you can only transfer to 10.3 EmuNAND and not SysNAND.

If you do not care about downgrade and CFW on the N3DS, you can update EmuNAND on the O3DS to 10.5 then transfer to 10.5 SysNAND on N3DS. No spoofing required.

In theory yes but stuff like cia games or cia dlc won't get transferred, you can use emunand9 to "Clone" emunand to sysnand and vice versa without erasing the sd card so can transfer in sys

The thing is that you can only transfer legit cia's. If you install other cia's, it won't appear on your N3DS. You don't even have to transfer for legit cia's if the N3DS is below 10.3 as you can use NASA. And from there, downgrade if you are willing to do it. If you don't, that's all you can do.

if this is done when emunand is 10.4 or 10.5, you will lose the ability to downgrade and use cfw once you write it to sysnand.

You are right. They can't.
You can actually manually transfer EVERYTHING (including files on the SD card) from one console to another. Final step being to format the original to unlink your NNID from it. Takes a small bit of nand.fat16 editing and edit the movable.sed. When you do this, you can actually delete those legit .cia games in Data Management, and eshop will let you download them again. So "can't" is a strong word...

EDIT: and @James310 you need to be VERY careful about telling people to do that. If someone used sysupdater or any .cia manager to update emunand (pretty much anything other than updating through system settings), installing that emunand to sysnand WILL CAUSE A BLACK SCREEN BRICK since the FIRMs do not get properly updated. (still works as an emunand because emunand launches FIRM from the SD, outside of the emunand partition). In case you're wondering why they would update emunand that way... rxTools is still limited to 9.5 on N3ds. That's why. Lots of new users floating around now...

If you want to system transfer to a console on sysnand....Get a hard mod. That's one way to save you the headache. I'm getting an n3DS that will be nand modded so I'll just have it on 10.5 when I do the system transfer. Besides it's just easier this way since I think only the target console for the system transfer process has to do a reboot which can cause some issues since it would reboot out of emunand if I was system transferring to an emunand.

Besides. The Arm9LoaderHax CFW master race is fast approaching. You will really want a hard-mod when that happens. B-)

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
