I built the apk, and when I pick the "Add binary file" it crashes, but it launches the file manager.
You didn't make it for the most recent Android OS did you? Make it for the same or older version of the Android OS that you have, preferably for KitKat 4.4 or lower, for better compatibility for everyone, and if you already knew that, sorry, was just a thought of why it might not work.

I can test for whoever, however I don't have any NFC NTAG215's.
I have NFC Android phones With JB, KK, and LP.

I've been waiting a while for something like this and just haven't had the time myself to compile an apk, and don't have any tags yet. I was hoping someone else with more time would finally compile everything and verify it working, then I could buy some tags and test myself. LOL

I just built the source code with the settings given at Github. But yeah, you are right, the "Add binary file" option works in Android 5.0 and newer.

THIS.

So we're confident enough with this "unsafe" AmiiWrite app that I should burn $1 and try it on one of my NTAG215s?

EDIT: This still isn't going to work because we still don't precisely know which bits of data need to be fixed.

"The missing piece however is in fact using the locked secret keys to generate another derived keyset, and then using the hmac key from that keyset to hash the last two pieces hashed for the key at 0x80 (0x00 to 0x08 and 0x54 to 0x80)." - Supercool330
